There is a little something known as "rank".. and since I was part of one of those "parallel illegal" organizations, I couldn't make them do anything. A fact theyw ere moooore than willing to remind us of at every turn. We tried to do things with them, to teach them, and 90% of them couldn't care less. I had a senior police officer stand in front of me and argue that interviewing a suspect and writing down their every word was SUPERIOR to videotaping the same interview. I had police officers tell me that crime scene photos shouldn't be in colour.. and when you ask why, its because its always been done in b&w. Imagine in 2012 TTPS still had to source film for cameras. We attempted to show them the way, and most, especially the seniors, including the current Ag CoP, didn;'t give two hoots about that.

You are a damn fool. You come here paid to support a myopic and clueless government, and know nothing about what your typing. I worked for one of those "agencies" and I can tell you flat out when you were in bed sleeping I was out getting shot at at 3am in Beverly Hills. I have had experiences calling the TTPS for assistance and having them never show up. I have handed the police critical evidence in cases and watch them bungle it so badly that your best suspect walks free. Talk about why kidnapping is practically non existent. Yes murders crossed 500, but talk about why there were two consecutive years of decreases. Talk about the drug boat that I personally witnessed intercepted, then to hear the police "roadblock" allowed the people they were meeting to escape.
There are many good officers in the police, but who have no support and no chance of advancement. These agencies gave these officers a chance to take their enthusiasm and direct it into somethin that (while far from perfect) was light years ahead of where they were. Now they have nothing but disillusioned and jaded people who had the chance to make a difference... Oh wait they'll fit in perfectly with the TTPSnow

Griffith is WRONG. Any NCO or lower level CO would have been more than enough to oversee and command such an operation. The re was no need for officers of that rank to be present. Threat or no, this was a matter to be handled by the Police service, with the TTDF there to provide support. There have been many more serious incidents which posed a greater threat to national security, and that did not require their presence. Keep in mind the TTDF is not answerable to the Government

THANK YOU.... I am in the same boat as you, and I have never understood why the former executive stayed silent as this government washed their collective mouths on SAUTT. Like anything else there were aspects of the organization that could have been handled better, but to deny the impact that was made reeks of political blinkers

Just to add to what you're saying, SAUTT's homicide investigations and CSI depts were absorbed (more like forced) into the TTPS. The excavator story vexes me every time I read it- the excavator was never on a SAUTT compound, and was under the control of the TTDF. The gates to the facility are guarded by TTDF, not SAUTT, and this isnt something that one can put in a pocket and walk out with. There had to be some complicity

Like how the UNC messed up the original DNA Bill? The 2007 Bill was drafted to replace the completely non-functional one passed in 2000. That is the one that has had numerous cases thrown out since its provisions were poorly defined

A non-intimate sample may be taken from a person
without his consent where—
(a) he has been charged with an offence;
(b) a stain derived from a crime scene exists and
there are reasonable grounds for suspecting that
that person was involved in the offence and for
believing that forensic DNA analysis could
confirm or disprove such suspicion;
(c) he has had a non-intimate sample taken and that
sample has proved to be either unsuitable or
insufficient for forensic DNA analysis; or
(d) he has been convicted of an offence and is
serving a term of imprisonment.

That is from the current DNA Act f 2007... the bill defines what is an intimate and a non-intimate sample, and the grounds on which a non-intimate sample may be taken without consent

Uhm...according to the manufacturer Zenith Aircraft, the two kits needed to build the plane total US $19480 + $575 international shipping... comes up pretty close to $20000 in my estimation.
