Until cars drive themselves or some other technological breakthru, drinking and driving is not going to go away. The best advice I have to stay safe is the rule we practice, don't drive late at night, especially on weekends and holidays, too many crazies out there. If i have to go out at those times I avoid undivided highways and try to stick to slower speed surface streets.

Not ideal or practical for all but imho the best way to reduce the risk.

Shouldn't be too tough to find these criminal geniuses. Since they are all likely minor's make the parents pay for the damages and force them to take some parenting classes to control their dang mongrels.
