Oh now I get it! You're trying to bring attention to something you take out of context (the middle name MUST mean he is a Mulsim extremist/terrorist) and actually lying about the Iman part in order to strike fear in the hearts of all good conservatives everywhere! I see how you are. So THIS is how you righties plan to get votes. Hmmmm, sadly, it may work.

No need to put quotation marks around the President's middle name. It really IS his middle name after all. So what.

And they are. Just like the nut-job pastor in Florida and his threats to burn Quarans, these people want their 15 minutes of fame.

No, what I hear from Liberals (and I am one) is that Americans are NOT represented by the "50 wackos in Florida." But you certainly represent YOURSELF to be one of them--maybe not geographically but certainly theoretically.

You sound like a Rand Paul who wants to do away with the civil rights laws in order to let people decide individually whether or not to honor liberty for all citizens. Since we're on a slipery slope, we might as well slide all the way downhill, huh. To h e l l with morals and ethics.

No, just protecting freedom for ALL people and not just the "chosen" as determined by conservatives who believe freedom should be denied according to race, sexual orientation and now religion. Freedom, 596? Selective freedom.

I find it alarming, Silace, that you infer what you believe to be the inevitability of conflict in which one or the other (Christianity or Islam) is victorious and the other is eradicated. Also, your expressed hope that the "better participant" should be the victor shows your lack of tolerance because you obviously believe yourself to be a member of the "better participant(s)." No living in peace and tolerance from you, Silace. You seem to be chomping at the bit for global unrest. Any reason will be good enough for people like you....like going to war in Iraq because of their weapons of mass distruction and because they bombed the World Trade Center.

GazetteOnline.com : Tawny Tomberlin case illustrates danger of domestic violence cases

A good place to start is, as always, teaching values while young. Girls need to learn that they should never accept abusive behavior, and boys need to be taught respect. Maybe that's easier said than done... Next is a zero tolerance policy, also starting in the schools--but into adulthood as well.

The loser is 48. I'm willing to bet this is just one in a long line of "incidents" of one type or another with this guy.
Oh please. Be real. Do you also think Christians of today follow the whole Bible literally? People like you create division rather than work to bring people together. Hating someone--or a whole religion, as it were--is much easier, isn't it. I have read the Qur'an. There's a lot of good in there, too. And, like Muslims, Christians also believe that they must convert nonbelievers. In the past it was done by violence, too. The terrorists come from third world countries. I think it is their culture, rather than their religion, that makes them violent. By the way, I am neither Muslim nor Christian (nor Jew for that matter).

We live in a society...we're not insulated. There is a role for government in societies to PROTECT the rights of the citizenry. It's very true what GeorgeJones said about the quality of the government. Really, are you with the Ron Paul's who want to do away with Civil RIghts, Social Security, etc.? Survival of the fittest instead of charity and community?

Ever really learn about the Muslim faith? I took a college class on the Abrahamic religions: Islam, Christianity and Judism. They really have more in common than differences. It is the extremists who pollute the attitudes of others. Don't forget that Christian extremists have done horrible things over the course of history in the name of religion. We are supposed to have evolved far enough to work towards the commonality. But obviously, PeterDuncan, not everyone has evolved yet.

It's interesting to me that when you look at comments to editorials and articles, it is obvious by the thumbs up and down that most readers are liberal/Democratic. Funny how those who actually read the paper and make efforts to KNOW what's going on seem to lean left. Then there are those who don't know c ra p but just want to vote out the incumbants. But they aren't here reading and informing themselves. Where do they get the knowledge upon which they base their views? Limbaugh. Beck. Palin. The TanMan. No wonder...
