Schweizer's "Throw Them All Out." Relatedly, it was also interesting last night to see Senator Scott Brown's interaction with President Obama after the SOTU speech, as Obama was gladhanding his way out, when Brown sternly told him the anti-insider-trading bill was ready to go. Interesting that Brown is out front on this, since one of the most egregrious and blatant insider-trading offenders, according to the Schweizer book, is his fellow Massachusetts senator John Kerry.

Caffeine isn't why we don't drink coffee, no specific reason in fact has ever been given... If you're Mormon, you know that the origin of the coffee/caffeine prohibition comes from Joseph's Smith's revelatory Word of Wisdom decree that members should abstain from 'hot or strong drinks.' Vague terminology, that. But early Church leaders/prophets interpreted it to mean strictly coffee and tea – but excepting the types of coffees and teas that had no caffeine, such as herbal teas or the decaffeinated coffees that came with later modernity, like Sanka. Thus the ban hinged unequivocally on whether a substance contained caffeine.

One important factor for the people of the North, and an obstacle in the path of any progress toward change, is that they founded their state on the virtue of their being the anti-Japanese-empire segment of Korean society, i.e. the exalted resisters against the Japanese colonization of the nation, going back several decades before WW2. Of course there isn't any proof or Breitbart would be holding a press conference waving the proof. Wrong on the first premise; and non sequitur (anyway) on the would-be conclusion. Breitbart isn't the soulless anti-Obama robot you imagine him to be. He's a politically active and politically shrewd individual who makes rational choices about what stances to take, which battles to fight. So, of course, Breitbart's decided it'd be unwise to fight this one, for now. Despite the compelling evidence behind the theory that Ayers wrote Dreams. I imagine that if Breitbart were to attempt to hold such a press conference now, while the theory is among the national media either unknown or willfully ignored, he'd be flayed alive before he was able to get halfway through it. So again, it would be unwise, counterproductive to his aims. It's irrelevant really. Wrong, obviously. It could have a massive effect on Obama's identity and legacy, and on the political culture in general. Obama could swiftly become something of a sad joke, like what happened to Nixon. Or perceived, with reason, as a puppet of manipulative radicals. you don't really think they/we would vote for Newt or Romney do you? I guess not, if it's all and only about the tribe, all and only about the fight. But it might very well make your fellow tribesmen less apt to get out and vote, and your opposing tribesmen more apt to get out and vote, which makes a significant difference in elections.

Historically and temporally, Clinton was the luckiest president ever. To come to the office just after the communist world collapsed, reaping the peace dividend. As China really emerged as a dynamic economy, and Eastern Europe's economy broke free, keeping inflation down and investment flooding into the U.S. And of course the development of the Internet raising optimism and expectations, and everyone expecting the End of History, a coming dispensation of automatic peace and prosperity, poverty eradicated, all problems eminently solvable.

This isn't old news. The theory was only first put forth in the summer of '08, while the book was published in '95. And it's not well known. Saying it's old news is signaling, again, that this is 'not to be talked about'. Anyway, like I said, it's probably best if it were to remain unknown, as otherwise it would quite likely be bad for the country, a shock to our collective conscience, a national embarrassment, a national humiliation. Incidentally, I still you think you mocked initially because you and other LDs like you inwardly fear that the theory could very well be true, and if publicized, could be a big embarrassment specifically for the Obama worshippers who essentially deified him throughout '07, '08, and '09, and extremely disheartening to Democrat voters, your tribe, in general. But I know you'd reflexively deny that, so no need to ... reflexively deny that. (And btw, it's obviously no big deal for a prospective and ambitious politician to have a literary adept ghostwrite a book for him; Obama, in retrospect, just picked the wrong guy. Of course he was completely unaware at the time that he'd someday in future be running for president. Ayers expected him, maybe was grooming him, to be mayor of Chicago). (BTW2, For the record, I kinda like Obama, despite all his personal-past complexes and obscurities. But I like the real and flawed temporal man Obama, as opposed to the divine and infallible and eternal Obama who is worshipped as the One. Or worshipped as the brilliantly amazingly brilliant genius of a writer, of what may be the best-written memoir ever produced by an American politician, in the words of Time's Joe Klein.
