not sure where my reply had any connotation of laughing.... This interview was in response to questions about a potential crime scene due to someone's death. An incredibly sad moment, regardless of poor choices made by the victim. He was somebody's son, brother, friend, acquaintance and I doubt they find any humor in this situation at all. The giggle/snort is disrespectful, regardless of whether it was completely due to nervousness or not. All I'm saying is that perhaps some public speaking/sensitivity training is in order. I am sure Sgt Boston wishes that his demeanor during the interview would have been different-don't you?

What about an option to spend the $$$ on bus rapid transit between Boulder and Longmont. Trying to negotiate a lease with BNSF seems to be a lesson in futility and I agree was poorly thought out by RTD. BRT, while not as sexy as light rail, is probably more cost effective and would address concerns about BOLT schedules, traffic, etc. Fight the desire to turn it into a lexus lane and make it dedicated bus only

I agree that 11:30 is earlier than I would have expected, but in the past have always tried to summit any 14'er as early in the day as possible to try to minimize any risk-like 9am so I could hang for a little while and then start to ehad down. I have not hiked Bierstad, but am guessing that due to what seems to be the casual nature of this relatively easy hike, it may attract those with a more cavalier attitude. Poor pooch didn't have a choice in being there,here's to a full recovery for the hikers that were injured.

As a BHS parent of a recently graduated senior and incoming sophomore (who have not had Mr. Vacca as a teacher) my children have taken or will take AP Language Arts and Lit classes to challenge themselves academically, gain critical thinking skills to meet standards developed by a third party and accepted to varying degrees by the majority of colleges and universities. In this case, i want the teachers tasked with AP classes to teach to the curriculum. My older son has had much success in the Lang Arts related AP test with two different professors and, has developed the ability to apply critical thinking to texts read and communicate thoughts clearly and concisely. Are AP teachers average test scores published for students and parents alike to review? I'd be curious how other BHS AP teachers stack up over time compared to Mr. Vacca. If his lower performance is reflective of his teaching career, I support Gillach's move and would fight to ensure my kids do not have Mr. Vacca for AP curriculum.
