The Reality-Based Community : How to make more good blue-collar jobs

In our recent Canadian election (Oct. 2015) it was exactly this argument that turned the election campaign around and elected our new PM Trudeau. We finally turned the corner on austerity up here. (And got rid of our very own Dick-Cheney: Stephen Harper) " Infrastructure investment The world is awash in capital and short of safe and productive places to invest it. As a result, the U.S. Government can borrow mony for 30 years at an interest rate of 2.5% (nominal). Our roads, bridges, passenger rail, electric grid, airports, and urban mass transit systems are all in desperate need of upgrades, expansion, and catching up on deferred maintenance. When you have good investment opportunities, idle resources, and access to cheap money, you should borrow the money and invest. Construction work provides the classical source of “good” blue-collar employment."

Saw the latest attack-Jack ad (it seemed like they just changed the name from Iggy to Jack, cheapos) and now this bit of nonsense. I literally LOLed and think others might be laughing too. Stevie should change his name to Doris, don't ya think?

Interesting Question on partition.... but which partition and who are they asking? 1) Question to Quebecois: If separation question is answered YES, are you willing to partition Quebec to achieve that? or 2) Question to Canadians: If separation question is answered YES by the Quebecois, are you willing to partition Canada in order to let Quebec to achieve that?

Macleans.ca : Stephen Harper is now winning a lot less

Prime Minister Jack Layton. Hearing those words (without the heretofore accompanying raucous laughter) alone could easily bring us a Harper majority. As the perpetual-Canadian-existential-issue blows up in Jack's face this week, yet more voters will flee to "stability over chaos". Hope I am wrong but my bet is the Cons are smug rather than worried at this turn of events. The destruction of the Liberal party is their long term game-plan, no?

Macleans.ca : On third thought

All parties screw up when vetting their candidates. So Kent's reaction was honest and right-on. This little episode exposing Harper (and the zombie-like control of his stooges) is frightening in itself. Combined with the terrorist-Malik-endorsement in BC, it would appear that Harper's ethnic outreach initiative has recruited some strange bedfellows. Mulroney gave Bouchard and his separatist buddies seats at the cabinet table. Trust another Con-artist to bring terrorists into government.
