Ignorance doesn't count -- it multiplies. But it makes mistakes, and can't correct them. So the products are wrong.

Another interesting point to make about civilization is that "Pretty much all human progress was accomplished " before the era of the megachurch. "Our lapse into degeneracy and the culture of feral humans" dates almost exactly concurrent with the era of the 700 Club, the Crystal Cathedral, the PTL Club, Mars Hill Church, and so on.

Even if you accept that being a congressman is a full-time job, the hourly rate for a congressman over the course of a year is $83.65 --
which works out to roughly 11.54 times minimum wage. Which essentially the entire Republican Caucus wants to eliminate, because it's too much. As the article points out, Congress is taking just 43 "work" days over the 6 months of the summer, which works out to $2,023 per day, which equates to 279 hours of work at that minimum wage.

And I the next time a job opens up at AAPLOG, and someone applies and says that they are pro-choice advocates and "just wants to find out" if consideration will be given to a person who disagrees with the mission charter of the organization, what do you think will happen?

And how would Greg Abbot feel if 50 or 100 or 1000 people wrote to him and demanded that he reveal all of his chemical holdings and explain in detail their plan for mitigating the dangers thereof? I bet he'd be rallying to get the law changed ...

I don't know if I agree that one should be allowed to marry a " 1982 BMW 5 series 4-door" -- how do you obtain informed consent from a BMW to a marriage? It'll get its motor runnin' for put near anyone ...

Wait ... how does having Current TV on a cable keep Blaze TV off of it? Is the problem maybe that Beck refuses to share a cable company with certain other classes of opinion? CENSORSHIP!

Fellow Wonketerrieres --

I have no way of confirming (or denying!) the authenticity of this but there happens to be a "Vontray Sellers" identified advertisement on youtube at this link -- if it's correct, Mr. Sellers also fails to spell "rodeo" correctly.

Wait just a minute here! Is this guy such a lousy shot that he can't shoot someone's balls of with LESS than 15 bullets? Hasn't he learned how to aim?

Well, I suppose the Redcoats could have also said that to General Washington, eh? But besides that, we lost plenty of engagements on the ground. Sometimes we went in the next day and blew up everything nearby, sometimes we just wrote it off as a small, meaningless encounter, but we lost plenty. Often, the argument was made that the VC just wouldn't "fight fair" (that is, in a big set-piece engagement). The Redcoats would have made that argument too, I suspect. But then we lost the first set-piece engagement we had with the VC (the New Yorker did a long piece about It a few years back) and we lost that argument. The significance to Tet is that we'd had plenty of losses before Tet, but through 1968 the military high command was arguing that we were winning everything, and soon the VC would be burned out, and the war would be over -- and then Tet came and the VC even entered the US Embassy compound. Yes, they lost more soldiers than the US and the ARVN did, but they proved that we were just plain wrong when we said we were winning.
