I really must give credit where credit is due. I have been perusing the topics here for a good half-hour now. I haven't felt the need to log on, however - at least up until now. I'm seeing the usual ankle-biting, divisive bickering that constitutes the majority of posts here. And a few decent ones. Not much to raise the spirits, shall we say? But then I saw *your* post. I must say I'm impressed, and you're very well-read, and spot-on. You put a smile on my face, and helped put my heart at ease, at least for a while <chuckle>... Perhaps there *are* some people of that "younger age group", as you so eloquently stated, that actually can see through that "fog" that is cast upon us by our politicians (and society in general), all so often. You certainly *do* see through it. Thus you give me some hope. As much as I will say I hope you pass on your knowledge to others, I do hope you don't go into politics. You may find yourself qualified to do so, but I think you're just too good for that. It seems to ruin a great many originally-well-intentioned people. To steal a line from an old S.E. This state is now how many billions in debt? Last I checked it was around $10 billion. And STILL our lawmakers have their heads in the clouds. Let's see - let's ban lead wheel weights (sorry tire stores), plastic shopping bags (sorry retailers, supermarkets), etc., etc. And I see our neighbors to the south in Portland are trying to push through a "voluntary ban" on fragrances in the workplace ("voluntary ban" - now there's an oxymoron for the ages). What a joke. Where does the lunacy end? Certainly not the asylum... Is this really a prudent use of our tax dollars? Seems to me all it does is hurt businesses and consumers, and reeks of arrogance, ignorance and a general disconnect from reality. And I am SO sick of these politicians micro-managing the hell out of everyone's lives and businesses. They have a lot of nerve pushing this garbage on us when the're own house is in such poor order. Get a grip. If you folks would like to ban something that would truly have a positive effect on our state, try banning yourselves.

Sure, it's easy to congratulate the people of Egypt for their success in deposing their perceived "evil" leader, like so many are blindly doing. Don't get me wrong - I sincerely *do* hope it ends well for the Egyptian people. But, realistically? While everyone else is playing checkers, I'm choosing chess. And I have to agree with you in your assessment. It's *not* likely to end well. All these millions of Egyptian people, and the Egyptian military, in their disenfranchised states of mind, could easily become "play-doh" in the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood. Earth to Nikki: You're missing my point entirely. I realize they have facilities in multiple locations (as is pretty typical for HMO's.. Franciscan is NATIONWIDE). So let me be more succinct... Let's face it - it's the upside-down thinking, squeaky-wheel, clowns in the more populated urban areas (like Seattle, San Fran, et al.) that typically drive these upside-down policies, and generate most of the publicity with regards to them.
