Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 5/22/09: The Battle of the Teleprompters - Obama v. Cheney

In my opinion, what Obama and his staff are doing now will make the US more vulnerable to attacks. The policies of the Bush/Cheney administration kept this country safe after 9/11 and it would be a mistake to discontinue those policies. I believe there will be another attack on US soil similar to 9/11, so it is best to be proactive, not reactive.

I think that just shows the very large double standard that we have in the country. The liberals can say what they want about us conservatives, but when the shoe is on the other foot, all the hate comes flowing out.

If states do not have the right to secede, then what was it when the confederate states of America were formed?? I believe that they seceded from the union, oh, and it took a civil war to get them back.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 4/17/09: President Obama Makes A Surprising & Strong Statement About Assault Weapons

I beg to differ, it is NOT illegal for a civilian to own a fully automatic gun. It is however very difficult and expensive to get the necessary licenses and permits. A class 3 Federal Firearm License required and there is a ton of paperwork that has to be filed. So if a person is willing to go through all that, they can indeed own a machine gun. Read this:http://www.ask.com/bar?q=can+I+buy+a+machine+gun&...

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Despite the recent rise in gun violence ...

I will agree with everything you stated, that is why I do not like an assault weapons ban. The criminal element will have access to these types of weapons regardless if they are banned or not. If I can legally get my hands on a m15 , sks , or something similar, it would even the playing field, so to speak. My biggest concern is the fact that those who propose this ban have no clue as to what constitutes an assault weapon. By their definition, my Ruger 10/22 is an assault weapon, and I find that absurd. I also point out that banning hi capacity mags is useless, I can change out one in less than 2 seconds, so it don't relay matter as long as one has several magazines with him.(I carry at least 2 and one in the gun)

What I see happening here is a lack of vision. The anti gun people just don't get it. If guns are made illegal, only those of us who abide by the law will not have guns. The problem is that the CRIMINALS(those who do not abide by the laws) are the the ones doing all the shootings, along with a few nut jobs. Why would anyone want to be left defenseless, the police can't protect you. As far as an assault rifle ban goes, who decides what is or isn't an assault rifle?(M16's are not available to the public, only to the military). The Clinton assault rifle ban did nothing to lower crime, so why waist the time and effort. The 2nd amendment guarantees me the RIGHT to keep and bear arms, and I will continue to do so and fight to the end anyone who tries to take that right away. You who think we need more gun control need to take a look at the United Kingdom. Since there gun bans went into effect in 1996, the crime rate has doubled simply because the people do not have the freedom to protect themselves from the criminal. You make guns illegal, then only criminals will have guns. What part of that do you not understand? I invite you to read the book entitled "More Guns, Less Crime" by John R. Lott, Jr. It shows how in states with less gun control laws, there is less crime.

I invite you to read a book written by John R. Lott, Jr. that is based on his study of crime and gun control laws entitled "More guns, Less crime". Every gun control group has tried and failed to disprove this study. It clearly proves that with more guns in the hands of law abiding people, crime rates are indeed lower. What you are proposing is unreal and would do nothing but help the criminal element. We have enough laws on the books as it is and we need to start enforcing them. I will quote Ted Nugent here and say," I don't like repeat offenders, I like dead offenders." We have way too many repeat offenders roaming the streets and I will use any means necessary to protect myself and my family from these lowlifes, and if that means putting a .38 bullet into them, so be it.

With the second amendment being worded in 2 parts it clearly states that the "right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed". How hard is it to understand that? It has nothing to do with the milita. If we scrap the 2nd amendment, how long before they scrap all the other amendments? I will go with what Charleston Heston stated, they can have my guns when they pry them out of my cold dead hands.
