Let's look at your logic here. All right, they didn't have to try to make this show good, but they tried anyway; as such, they are to be commended. Fair enough. However, insisting that people shouldn't complain about flaws in the show? That's a bit like me making a soup and accidentally getting hair in it and someone justifying it by saying that I could've shit in their soup. I personally enjoy the episode, but that's beside the point.

I can think of a reason they spent so much time pulling it off: fun. Some people just enjoy pulling this kinda shit off to see if they can. It's not like this is the only chance anyone will ever have to see this episode.
