You are correct that he made those positions very clear during the early part of the campaign for president, but few people remember what he said back then. When it looked like Ms. Clinton might pass him on the right he swerved right to block her. He then swerved right again to block McCain. People only remember what he said in the last year of the campaign but not in the first three years he was running for POTUS. The only window into his real thinking is either to look back to when he was with Wright and Airs or to when he caught with out the teleprompter by people like Joe the plumber.

You are correct that he has a short launch window threw which to get most of his socialist issues. After the 2010 mid term he will have to slow down. He is pushing hundreds of things at the same time knowing that we will catch some of them. It is like the 8th Air Corp bombing Germany. They knew that they would loose air crews on every mission, but always sent more than could be shot down.

The bay of pigs was a little before my time. I know that the CIA tried to recapture Cuba from the Communists by using exiles as ground forces. The US Air Force was to fly cover but reneged after the beach landings were underway. I did not know that Eisenhower had any thing to do with it. Why would Kennedy change his plan?

How do you pitch a tent with out poles? The only support for any idea be it federal, state, county or local is the ballot box. If they think their reelection is automatic they will not earn it, but if we prove beyond a doubt that any of them can be ousted, the few who are left will listen to the voters.

I also remember the Carter hostage crises. The Ayatollahs caused a lot of pain for both our and their own nation. It is true that a lot of the citizens of Iran liked their own masters, but there was a resistance underground even then. That resistance is stronger now and they are on the verge of overthrowing the oppressors. No they will not suddenly become Baptist pastors if free but at least they might be less dangerous to us. Obama is making the same mistakes that carter made.

One of the reasons incumbents get re-elected and cause this nation to slide are the conservative voters. Too many will not slide off the couch on election day. I thought that might change in the very next election after the Obama take over, but we have already had two elections in many states. The turn out was just as bad as before and most mayors and city aldermen got re-elected. Come on conservatives wake up. Get off the couch and vote.
