That said, I don't believe the prosecutor should have brough any charges against this man. The guns belonged to his wife, he was not using them, he did not brandish them, nor were they purchased in his name. The jury, on the other hand, has no lattitude in their deliberations (unless, of course, O.J. is on trial) and must abide by the directions given by the judge. He met all three criteria for a finding of guilt so,.......... I suppose the jury COULD have found he was NOT in control of the guns and that would have brought in a finding of not guilty. I suspect he should have taken the plea deal and his lawyer should have pressed him to do so.
