Equestria Daily : \"Disturbing Rarity Clopfic Reading\" in Machinima\'s 7 Worst Youtube Videos Ever, and Pinkie Pie in

No, they aren't to blame for people remaining close-minded around bronies, but they definitely don't help. Do they have a right to exist? Absolutely. Do they have a right to find enjoyment in something that others may find weird? Absolutely. But... Do they have a right to claim that all bronies are okay with it, take advantage of the community's acceptance, and show a complete lack of self control when it comes to when & where it's appropriate? No. On the other side of the spectrum, a lot of cloppers are completely close-minded and don't give a single f*** about what they do and/or the possible ramifications to the community as a whole. They're the types that think EqD should feature R34 in drawfriends, the types who proudly state they're cloppers when interviewed by media, and the types who harass and insult members of the community when they're told to simply exercise some extremely basis self-control (ex: keeping the details of their sex life private like a normal human being).

Equestria Daily : 2Snacks Animation Rigs

For those wanting to see these in SFM, it's likely not going to happen, and the reasons why are: 1. The reason SFM ponies look a bit stiff is because they're lower in polygon counts in order to work with the game engine. I bet you 2snack's model there has a higher poly count than what the Source engine can handle. 2. The dynamic engine in Maya does not cross-over to other programs. 3. Rigging a model for animation and cleaning its topology to render well with an actual rendering plugin (such as mentalRay) is no small task. It took me a full 3-4 weeks to tweak a pegasus model and fully rig it for animation, and I was cutting corners to save time as well (ex: only made 5-6 different facial expressions, which is not enough for a fully dynamic character). Video of final rig: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYDZpAjiWjk 4. When you exclude the SFM/Gmod crowd, the actual 3D community is extremely small. Add on the fact that each person doesn't use the same program, and the community gets even smaller. For example, I can count on a single hand the number of 3D animators that use Maya for animating ponies (including myself), and we each use different techniques and setups for our rigs (aka: I may not know how to use 2snack's rig, and he may not know how to use mine). The depressing thing about it all is that within actual 3D programs you have limitless possibilities, and the end quality is much, much higher than SFM, but there's so few people that know how to use them (hint: they're complicated) that the chances of any large scale community 3D projects is extremely small.

Equestria Daily : 100 Standout Facial Expressions From Season 4

Equestria Daily : Seasons, Nostalgia, and Fandom Part 3 - The Height of Bronydom and Half a Year of Drama!

Yes, the fandom does suffer from group think, but not in the context you're describing. Every single time anything remotely goes against the fanon, or Hasbro files a C&D, there's a large group of people who throw a tantrum, bitch at Hasbro, and create such a ruckus that even news sites will write an article about it. The people you accuse of being drones are the non-vocal majority. Most of us don't really give a damn about EqG, Twilacorn, or what color Vinyl's eyes are. You accuse those of us that don't speak badly about Hasbro's decisions as drones, but sorry, I'm not a part of your fantasy world. Most of us enjoy the show quietly in the background, and choose not to act like children over things that aren't really a big deal to begin with. The only group think that exists are those like you who think the entire fandom actually cares every time the show does something YOU don't like.

"Your Early morning/late night post tonight is a song that isn't really pony, but has a pony on the cover." Meanwhile EqD denies dozens of songs from brony musicians each week because they don't think the song is pony enough, and accuse the musicians of doing a non-pony song and just sticking a pony picture on there to get more views.
Equestria Daily : Overmare Studios - Big Band Orchestral - Step Around and Mane Squeeze

It's because the true story isn't what is seen at face value. Once you look past all the dark, violent overtones, the true story of FoE is about friendship and finding your virtue, both of which are key elements in the TV series. Also, the reason why many people (including myself) enjoy post-apocalyptic themes is (ironically) not directly related to the post-apocalyptic elements themselves. It's about the qualities of a character/characters that come out in the face of adversity. For example, some people (actually a lot of people) enjoy shipping fics. I don't. Why? Because a lot of the time shipping and romance happens exactly the same way as it happens in our world as we know today, and thus it doesn't feel particularly special, meaningful, or stand out in a way that can hold the story together. It feels relatively empty and forced. FoE has shipping, and it was shipping I could actually enjoy. What changed is that adversity is now thrown into the mix. Such great adversity in fact, that even something as small as a smile or a hug to a friend carries such an emotional weight that you feel it as more genuine. It's like sticking a giant middle finger to the world around them to show that people/ponies can still live fulfilling lives, and it isn't just a lifetime of misery. As an example, here's some popular post-apocalyptic movies and their underlying themes: 28 Days Later: Small group of people who become friends and attempt to recreate their normal lives amidst a devastating virus. Book of Eli: A nostalgic longing for the past, and the various interpretations and influence of modern religion on morals/ethics. The Road: A father protecting his son and the conflict between that and childhood curiosity/wonder. As you can see, the true impact of the story is not about the world around them, nor is the world the antagonist. The world is simply a cause to the effect of the true antagonist: Emotion.

Equestria Daily : How To Be A Brony Musician

Here's a more accurate rundown: 1. Remix Rainbow Factory 2. Remix anything by Aviators, Omnipony, Glaze, Alex S, The Living Tombstone, or any track on Balloon Party. Make sure the original artist's name is in the title in order to get featured and get views. 3. Make a generic EDM track with a build-up, drop, repeat same build-up, and repeat same drop but with faster drums. 4. Add acapella from a show song, and beat match it. Key isn't important. If the key doesn't match, just slice up the vocals and make them sound glitchy. 5. Pirate Massive and Vengeance drum samples. 6. Use soundgoodizer or another combination compressor/maximizer in order to get your sound as loud as possible. 7. Pirate every dubstep preset pack for Massive. 8. Find a well known picture by a famous brony artist, and add your artist name and song title over it. Make sure you don't credit the original artist or link a source. 9. Pirate Adobe After Effects. Use the waveform plugin to add a waveform over your video. 10. Send Monstercat samples of your pony music. 11. Threaten to quit the fandom because nobody appreciates your music. 12. Don't quit the fandom. Say you've been thinking about changing your approach instead. 13. Repeat steps 1-12.

Equestria Daily : Spotlight Music: Memories / Bats (Tombstone Remix(

You've got a good drive man. I've been subscribed to you for awhile now. If you don't mind me giving you a couple suggestions, I feel these might help push you a little farther: 1. Start keeping a creative journal, and try your best to write in it as soon as you wake up. I usually end up writing interpretations about dreams from the night before, but sometimes you end up with an awesome idea for a song, or different project entirely. The scientific theory behind it is that by engaging the creative side of your brain as soon as you wake up, you keep that side active for a longer time each day. I don't know how much is true and how much is pseudo-science, but I know one thing for sure. If I'm struggling to come up with a song, all I gotta do is write in the darn journal for a few days, and boom! Next song project completed. 2. You're actually the most active musician that I'm subscribed to, and while it's good to keep a steady interval of music, it's much easier to lose your creative edge. I'd recommend maybe slowing your pace by around 30-40%, so if you release a track every 2 weeks, now you're releasing a track every 2.6-2.8 weeks. Spend the extra time to give each song a little bit extra, and you'll be amazed how far it takes you. Once again, these are just suggestions that I'm recommending. I'm pretty bad at listening to my own advice, so most of these suggestions are based on errors I've made in the past, or see others making.

Equestria Daily : Spotlight Music: Memories / Bats (Tombstone Remix(

I don't really get upset when it's a famous person. For the most part, regardless of how we feel, they're technique, structure, and overall musical impact is better than those of us who are still learning. The whole thing that set me off yesterday was seeing how a famous musician can even get a not so great song featured that EVERY SINGLE OTHER one of us musicians would have not even made it to MoTD with it. The comments both on the YT upload and this page all have a common theme to them. "This wasn't your best work," "It doesn't sound like the original," "Too repetitive," etc. Apparently a musician's standing in the community is more important than the music itself. I've pretty much given up on anything music related with EqD at this point. If I actually end up making something that is good enough to get a feature (unlikely), I'll guess only my own fans will enjoy it. Not going to change my style to try and "fit in," with...whatever it is that EqD considers, "in."

Equestria Daily : Spotlight Music: Memories / Bats (Tombstone Remix(

And here we come to the complete pandering of known musicians, forever locking every other musician out that didn't make a big name for themselves within the first year of the fandom. And EqD had the audacity to ask us, "Why is the music scene not as big as it used to," or, "What can we do to make the music scene better?" I've met Tombstone in person, drove around with him, critiqued his BronyCon set list, etc. back in 2012's BronyCon. He's a great person with a lot of passion behind his music. I don't feel any ill prejudice against Tombstone in any way, but this song does not belong in a spotlight post. First, let's talk about the intro stuff. What purpose does it serve in the song? It is in no way connected to the MLP episode in any way, shape, or form, so it serves absolutely no purpose except for perhaps establishing the main riff, which... The main riff doesn't have ONE, SINGLE, OUNCE of influence of the Bats! song. In fact, it doesn't even match the key or any of the song's complicated chord progressions. There is absolutely no relationship in the genre, key, chord progression, or style to the original song. Guess what that means? It's not a remix. It's an original song just utilizing vocals from another song and throwing a riff on top of it. You could literally replace the Bats! acapella with an acapella from any other song, match the bpm, and the song would sound the same. On top of the lack of influence from the original, or weird intro that doesn't have anything to do with the song, the mixing is subpar. Now, I'm not a good mixer, and I'm still working on getting my own mixes to sound right, but anybody with any experience in mixing that possesses 2 ears can immediately pick up the muddiness in the low-mid range frequencies as a result of over compression. There's no dynamics to the song at all, and even the vocal track (you know, that thing the whole remix is based on?) is pushed to the background by the foreground instruments, so the vocals are barely audible at parts. This isn't even about popularity in the music scene. It's the fact that out of maybe 7-8 Bats! remixes total, the ONLY ones that ever saw a spotlight post (I think 3?) were the ones that weren't really even remixes. At least Sim Gretina had the courage to straight up say, "This song was too hard, so I made an original based on Fluttershy's verses instead," (I'm paraphrasing a bit here, but that's essentially what he said). There is not one spotlight Bats! remix that actually tried to keep in tune with the original. There sure is a hell of a lot of them that were in MoTD though. I'm honestly hurt seeing this, and what makes it hurt even more is you (Sethisto), you yourself said you loved the Bats! song because of its style, and you didn't want to hear any remixes that strayed from that style because of how much you enjoyed the original. Then you go on to spotlight every remix that strayed from the original, and essentially side-line every other one that actually WAS a remix. I don't think my remix was of good enough quality to be spotlighted, but there were a few that definitely did, and I'd rather see some newer musicians getting the feedback and encouragement needed to help them get better than see obligatory posts for musicians that are half-assing their songs because they're fueled by a need to quiet their subscribers moreso than an actual passion behind the show. The music scene is dying off. I've told you personally over MLR on multiple occasions what problems are arising within the music community and the pseudo-celebrity status that EqD creates and clings dearly to with the older musicians. Well most of them are gone now, but instead of promoting a new tier of musicians, you chose instead to just simply feature less, and anytime an older musician creates something it's automatically spotlighted regardless of the quality. Stop putting every well known musician on an eternal pedestal. Stop, "not featuring," songs because the mixing isn't 100% perfectly matched with the quality of labeled musicians in the actual industry. Stop acting like you actually care about the brony music scene. EqD Music sure was a big success, wasn't it? Do start putting creativity and originality as a more important aspect when judging songs. Do start featuring newer artists that still care about the show and are inspired by it. Do start doing more of what you did back in the beginning, and less of what you do now.

I don't wonder why you or others clop. I wonder why you and others feel compelled to let the world know on a website most news companies frequent when researching the fandom. And yes, in some cases the art is very good. I'm not one to put down another artist's talent solely because of the subject matter. There are many saucy artists I follow, and a few explicit artists who do some damn fine work. Erotic art isn't just meant to be viewed as having a singular purpose. There's sometimes some very real depth in what's being shown, but all that is lost for those who only view it with a singular purpose, and (ironically) in a way, sometimes those who don't clop can appreciate clop more than those who do.

Equestria Daily : Bronystudy - Results and News

That was a painfully long survey to take, but I read each question and answered as honestly as I could. For those who don't know, these guys have actually done a lot to help the brony community. One of the most common criticisms of the brony community early on was that all bronies must be homosexuals if they like a show for little girls. Now while there's still some trolls out there that still use that to try and insult us, it's actually not used very often anymore, and the time the gay criticisms started dying down was around the same time these guys released the first survey showing most bronies being heterosexual. So even though the survey is long, please go out there and fill it out. It does help the community in the long run. Note: I have nothing against homosexuals. I don't feel calling somebody gay should be treated like an insult, so the less it is used in a derogatory manner, the more accepting people are towards those who are gay.
