My original sponsor needed my skills and was willing to go through the complex process. I simply want others to be able to walk into a US Embassy and apply for a work visa and be able to go through a serious and expedited process. But there is no such a process, understand this; there is no line for people to apply, the famous “line” does not exist for the average immigrant. I believe that those undocumented who made it across the border or on a ship DESERVE to stay here and if they have US born children who are US citizens they should be allowed to stay. And for undocumented children who grow up in the US and want to serve in the military they should have that option instead of deportation after we educate them. And finally, those who are here and are documented should not have to wait five, ten or fifteen years to bring their spouses and children and parents under the current broken system. That is an affront to human rights. NO the US is not the greatest country but it is better for many people than their country and we should allow them to come in as we did for the Europeans in the mid-1900s. Why are Latinos and Africans treated differently? Laws can be inhumane too like segregation.

I am an immigrant who pays a lot of money in taxes and also I am a US citizen who votes everytime and I am not SHEEP like you. Unlike you, I actually believe in debate and the idea of having different opinions.

That is a real concern. I rather have more of them covered by insurance to protect myself, my family and themselves rather than having them drive without protection. You hit the nail on the head. thanks

THIS IS A WARNING TO DEMOCRATS IN OLYMPIA. IMMIGRATION REFORM AND HOW YOU TREAT UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS IS A BIG DEAL FOR US IMMIGRANTS. Democrats will turn over the state to republicans it you support anti-immigrant positions. LATINOS will not vote for your or will stay home. At least republicans speak publicly about their position on immigration reform, but you keep telling us you are a friend of the community of immigrants. So don't be a hypocrite because it will cost you your seat next time. We will remember!

Once again Patty Murray does great work on behalf of Washington. It is sad to read the negative posts not because it hurts her but it shows the low education level of the anti-Murray groups. Really, HOW IRRITATED ARE YOU? WELL, PATTY WILL BE RE-ELECTED AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN. So, buy lots of ulcer meds you will need them. GO PATTY AND THANK YOU FOR CARING FOR OUR VETS, OUR HEROES!

Libs-R-tardy says "I agree, close the borders, anyone coming across illegally will be shot." I think you are talking about the way of life in Tucson where any US born idiot can own a gun and shoot people "undocumented or not" "US citizen or not". They easily get a gun and target practice with their own kind. I think your idea has already been implemented in the Wild West called Arizona.

I HAVE TO TELL YOU THE TIME HAS COME TO FIX THE BROKEN IMMIGRATION SYSTEM LIKE IT OR NOT! YOU HEARD THE MAN, THEY WILL BE ALLOWED TO BECOME US CITIZENS.

Funny, I used to say the same about the not so smart guy from Texas, but at least I was right on.

What do we want? Immigration reform. When do we want it? NOW. It is about time immigration reform becomes a reality. It is time to allow those living in the shadows a chance to have a voice. The right wing members of Congress heard the President tonight and Mr. Obama has our support. THE TIME HAS COME TO FIX IMMIGRATION.
