You know I may have more respect for what you just said if Romney didn't back his vote for his own Massachusetts healthcare law. You're ignoring the facts and all the times he's been caught pushing big government ideas. He wont be as bad as Obama, but he wont be as good as you pretend to believe.

I agree with everything in your last post. I wont get perfect, but I think it's good to open people's eyes - obviously not yours, since you see it - to alternatives. Get them thinking about the issues and light a fire under their butts. Would be neat to see a table of where each candidate stands on the issues, but with their voting history attached. We need to get down to brass tacks and weed out the BS. However, stealing the title, we need to "throw them all out." We need more than just a president change. Not to rehash or start an argument, which I don't, but one of the reasons I like Paul is because I know he will not sign another spending bill or other big government program. I can't say that about the others. So while I certainly don't agree with everything, he doesn't control everything, but he'll certainly veto the BS bills.

I believe in the rule of law and I believe we should have laws. So I think the street light question and regulations is a bit out of line. There are differing opinions among Libertarians, just like Republicans. If I were to legalize drugs, I'd start with the one's that are most smuggled into the country. So marijuana, cocaine, and heroin to start. I'd have them all regulated to a point, just like some prescription drugs. Obviously cocaine and heroin are highly addictive and dangerous. Someone can easily overdose on those drugs. I don't want them accessible to children and those caught selling to them should face harsher punishment then dealers currently do. Obviously adults make their own decisions and they'll have to live with them. I've dealt with people who were addicted to cocaine and heroin and it's awful. Needless to say I'm not friends with any of them, but that was my choice. In fact one guy I called his brother and parents and they sent him to rehab, he's clean now. So I have experience with the negative side, but I rather have it in the open where we can see what's happening. I obviously loathe Obama as a president. I would not vote for Romney and would write in a candidate, I can't stand him. I actually like Newt as a person, I heard him give a speech at the Hoover Institute and really have a lot of respect for him. I just think he's made a lot of poor calls in politics and I'm afraid that would seep into his presidency. My biggest thing is that I want whomever becomes president to start leading us back to what our founding fathers had laid out for us. It drives me nuts when I hear a liberal tell me that the constitution is a living, breathing document. The constitution was a culmination of wonderful minds and drawn from lessons of history of civilizations to become and almost perfect document or as perfect as man could get. So that's where my passion lies. Nice link to the Ayn Rand org site. Great writer and marvelous woman.

Was it really like pulling teeth. Ha! Legalize it all. I think people should be personally responsible and if they want to take drugs that's there choice. I rather people buy drugs from a legitimate source than off the streets. The war on drugs is an epic failure just like prohibition was an epic failure. I believe in personal liberty as long as you do not cause harm to others. You?

I already told you who I like or was I not specific enough for you? You have the hate on like nothing I've seen, chill out. I'm a libertarian and I have many independent friends including my fiancee, she doesn't associate with any party. However I was a Republican my entire life and switched this year. So there you have it.

A vote for Romney to me is a vote for Obama with an R in front of his name. Newt is a brilliant man but completely unpredictable and I don't trust him. Santorum is too close with lobbyists and wants to push his social values, which he has said. Of the three I think Santorum is the best, but not my preference. Paul has the strongest principles of the three and has always been steadfast in his beliefs. You can't vote for Paul anymore than I can vote for those three. So we're at an impasse and we'll never see eye to eye. However I feel comfortable in my position, but it is people like you who push people like me away. Perhaps that's why I mostly just read the articles on this site and no longer post. As soon as I say something people like you want to attack me personally. Actually you started attacking Paul people before anyone even posted. The proof is evident. Though I'm very happy outside this forum because I've met so many people who think like I do and I live in a very conservative community. The tide is changing towards the Libertarian view.

That's right good bye. You want to push the independents and libertarians away, that's fine. You're doing a good job of it. You're such a good little name caller too. I feel like I'm in 5th grade and dealing with the local bully. Nothing constructive to say, but likes to call people names and run around harassing them.

I already answered your question in the other thread. You're asking the wrong question anyway. You should have asked me why I don't like those candidates. But you want an us vs them argument. Your only original post was to bash Paul people before they even said a word. So you're like the pre troll troller.

Who's your guy Harry. Mitt Romney? Rick Santorum? It's people like you who will lose the independents like me. So keep going cause right now I would prefer to write in my vote than vote for one of these three. Just keep it going cause you're not doing your party any favors.

Yes Gary Johnson or Ron Paul and many others I think are better. However i didn't want to start a discussion about my preferred choices, I'd rather talk about why those candidates, who I think are poor choices. There are better Republican's, but they're not running for office which is unfortunate. So it wasn't a case of mine choice is better, which obviously I think they are, but more that those candidates are more of the same, which they are.

Two candidates have a track record of being big government candidates. The other candidate is in bed with lobbyist and wants to push his social values on people. So I prefer the candidate that isn't any of those things.

One of the better pieces I've read here in a while. I wont be voting for Mitt if he is the GOP's choice because, as you said, he's the establishments choice. There wont be any sweeping changes with Mitt and I'm not just going to go with the flow. Screw all you Romney lovers, you're pushing this country further down the drain.

No one here is saying it's okay to subsidize anything. I personally don't want to see any subsidies. We need to make the country competitive again and the only way to do that is to rely on entrepreneurs, not the Federal Government. Entrepreneurs can't do much in this country with the government on their backs, there's too many rules, regulations and taxes. We need to dramatically reduce our tax burden on businesses and individuals and do away with a lot of regulations.

Big Government : Romney Could Win GOP Nomination by End of January

I don't agree with RP 100%, but I can trust that he wont sign our country away into mountains of more debt. I think he'll get people to focus on the US of A and force congress to be more realistic and possibly shed light on the corruption in washington to the can't be bothered crowd. That's just one reason I think he'd be good for the country, but he's not perfect, nobody is.

Not at all, but he's a confused individual as he owns several apartment buildings and many liberal policies would affect him in a negative way. He hates the way many conservatives push their values on people. He thinks that's a parenting thing and the government should stay out of our personal lives completely. I find that hard to argue with.

My best friend is a screaming liberal and he'd vote for Paul. He likes the economic conservative aspect and social aspect of Paul's offerings. He said he'd vote for Paul over Obama. The one thing many hard right people don't like is that Paul is not willing to push his social values on people as he rather let the states decide. They can't handle that and therefor have a seething hatred for the man. They use isolationism has an agrument, but it's not his position, he just doesn't like military adventurism, which I totally agree with. If we continue the path we are on and vote in another Big Government conservative, I have a very pessimistic view of our future.
