You confused me too, but you do seem to have found a counterexample. Two 'L's and a 'T' is not the best one, though: it is possible in some configurations, but not others. Two plus shapes and an 'O' is a better example; I don't think there's any way to do it at all.

There's a difference between accepting some people's testimonials, and accepting a unanimous consensus. Can you find anybody who will say, "I got a cloud chamber, but didn't see any protons or neutrons"? People who otherwise seem sane, I mean; no counting the time-cube guy. If you ask experts on science, I imagine >99% will tell you quantum physics is real. If you ask experts on religion, I would be surprised if >50% will tell you Christ rose from the dead. (If you restrict yourself to people in the US, the numbers might be more comparable.)

Um, yes? Computer CPUs use quantum physics to function. I've seen electrons (this is what CRTs do), and I could buy a cloud chamber for less than $100, and see protons and neutrons.

I remember reading an article somewhere (a british newspaper, I think) using this sort of thing to argue that many supposedly religious people are actually atheists, on the grounds that if they really believed in god their actions would reflect it.

While science is antagonistic towards faith (faith not liking the whole "question everything, try to find out, never be sure" thing), I don't think evolution is really more of a problem than any other branch. It just happens to be the bit the fundamentalists in this country decided to focus on.

I'd plug NearlyFreeSpeech.net, but they're US-based. They talk a good game about free speech on their site, but I'm not sure how OK they'd be with getting nasty lawyer-letters. On the other hand, they're small enough to have an Office Space quote on their site; you could just ask them.
