Exactly. A comparison could be like a developing country, slowly grows and grows and hits a point where everyone is talking about its success and quality, but after more time it just becomes stable and has hit a good mark for itself.

There's always some fun stuff to watch, if you're looking for something cute, funny, and easy to watch I'd recommend Nichijou.

Well it will always depends on the anime of course, but back then it was hard to find good voice actors to do a dub and even if they were the way the character is portrayed with said voice ends up not being great.
