Why am I getting negative marks for my comment? MichaelHunt made the remark about increased public intox citations causing drunk driving. I disagree. I think a public intox citation, **when justified,** (when someone is a danger to him/herself or others) would cause one to think twice about any alcohol-related violation. My son had an OWI once as a 19 year old. Did he learn from it? Heck yes! Does an evening cost more because of a taxi ride? Yes, but it's better than $10,000 and high risk insurance for years. Someone explain to me why my score is -3?

Why? I would hope it would better encourage them to take a taxi or have a designated driver with them. Most people learn from their mistakes.

I'll bet if you profiled the men training, their photos would be doing PT or doing weapons training and not laying in a bunk reading a book or watching movies. These women soldiers work very hard, too, and maybe you caught them during their downtime, but I have a son there and they have very little downtime. My heart and prayers goes out to both the men and women in the Iowa National Guard as they're gone from their families for the next year!

To lend credibility to the outcome, the language should be corrected prior to putting it to a vote. Otherwise, it's a guarantee that someone will cry foul no matter which side wins.
