I left a couple out - English as the National Language - know the language if you want to participate. Focus the government on the original issues it was formed to provide. I like the name "We the People". No handouts without effort (Welfare reform).

1. Term limits. 2. Balanced budget or congress and president not paid! 3. All bills must be hashed out totally in public, no closed meetings, all issues and long term issues evaluated. 4. Stop IRS and start Fair/flat tax. 5. Constitution followed in all legislation. Significant law breakers not allowed to serve in congress (ie-tax evasion). 6. Ability for all citizens (not illegals) to vote and congressman made aware so we are actually represented. 7. Reteach the constitution to all citizens. 8. Stop Illegal immigration. 9. Provide pension for congressmen to begin at age 65/70 when all others receive their pensions, not life long, and totally based on their salary, not some "golden parachute". 10. Find a way to make the nation aware of what is going on whether online, media, something. 11. Tort reform which will help Healthcare costs. 12. No Lobbyists, including ACORN type groups.

I've received multiple email letters, all the same letter from Ben Nelson in response to my "suggestions for voting". He obviously doesn't see things my way. I've received a nice letter in mail from Johanns and phone call from Lee Terry. We need to find someone to replace Ben next time around. I just hate to wait so long to change things up.

While I hate to see the auto industry fail, I don't consider it my responsibility to cover the costs for poor management. We've already put in huge funds in previous bailouts, and continuing to do so is will not help. "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." I blame the management (mismanagement) and the unwillingness of the unions to make significant concessions.

Socialized medicine often leads to waiting for your turn for surgery or procedures, which might be months or more. In this current age of "I want it now", I can't imagine many would tolerate this type of care. Also, my husband works in hospital construction and there are new "private" hospitals going up in Canada since the public ones can't handle the load, and some will just pay to get the services.

Care providers who take medicare and medicaid patients currently barely cover their costs and often do it as "charity". Why do our government officials receive anything better than is provided for those citizens? And why would we want to provide health insurance for illegal aliens? I don't, especially if we have challenges covering our own. Those of us in health care have already experienced insurance companies denying coverage for procedures that we feel are needed for our patients. We often have to appeal to them to get the care a patient needs. Why would we want to include the government further in these decisions? I also curious who the president invited to this health care forum, anyone who actually practices and provides quality care? Or are these just more of his cronies, just he can proceed with whatever he wants, since "they all agree". This administration will drive me out of medicine!

Tort reform is a big part of the health care problem, care providers often over order tests because of fear of litigation, even when they think they are doing everything right. The cost of malpractice insurance is huge and prevents many from providing care they would like to, such as obstetrics. I think most care providers want to truly help their patients but too often insurance company requirements or other things get in their way.

All this foreign news is scary, too. Iran has enough to make a bomb, more films online about how to do suicide bombings, on top of our economic issues. If people have not developed a strong faith, I suggest it should happen soon.
