His stance was that because Islam has no basis in mathematics (not to dismiss advancements in maths by Muslim scholars, but it is not at the heart of the religion) as do many of the world's other religions this confirmed in his mind that is was not of divine origin. The interesting implication here is that he seems willing to accept the divine origins of many other religions.
