I understand but it looks weired when I don't have network logo and it Settings > About it shows NO NETWORK too. I am thinking of restoring with original 3.1 ipsw (as I am not interested with unlock) and then restore back with custom firmware 3.1 to JB. Do you think this should allow me to jailbreak? Like I said earlier, I am not interested to unlock..happy with current provider. Cheers

After restoring with the custom build IPSW, I can't see my network logo (O2-UK)? Is this normal or did I do something wrong.. I never did anything other than what was explained here. Secondly, when I start my iPhone I see the Dev Team JB Logo (Pineaapple) and not Apple's. I also see Icy being installed with Cydia although I didn't choose to install Icy during OS 3.0 JB. Can you let me know what's happening here? Thanks.

Hi Jay, I got a replacement phone y'day which came with OS 3.0.1, I take it that you can't JB a OS 3.0.1 using redSnow 0.8, you got to downgrade it to OS 3.0 and then JB using redSnow.. is this what you did? And from there did you directly JB Upgrade to 3.1 using the post here or did you upgrade to 3.0.1 before 3.1? Can you explain how can you downgrade OS 3.0.1 to OS 3.0 cos my iTunes (v9.0) doesn't allow me to do it. Thanks in advance. Cheers

Quick Help Guys: I got a new iPhone 3GS y'day and its got OS 3.0.1 installed with Modem Firmware: 04.26.08. I guess I'm lucky as it didn't have OS 3.1 which can't be JB as the post says. I am trying to JB my OS 3.0.1 (iPhone 3GS) I see there is not direct JB for this.. I have to downgrade to OS 3.0 and then JB it and later upgrade to OS 3.0.1 and then OS 3.1 using this post. Tell me if i got this whole thing right please? When I try downgrading OS 3.0.1 to OS 3.0 using iTunes 9 on Mac, it doesn't allow me to do so. What should I be doing? Secondly, redSnow 0.8 doesn't JB OS 3.0.1 - if I'm right? Can someone who understands my issue help me, would be very thankful. Cheers

Now this is frustrating for me.. I upgraded to OS 3.0 without taking a backup now all my Jailbroken Apps have disappeared and when I check my settings Total Space: 14.2 GB Available: 2.1 GB.. where did all my remaining space go? Does that mean all my apps (jailbroken) been deleted and data's i downloaded using them (movies, mp3s, etc.,) have also been erased? Any chance I can restore back to 2.x as my iPhone was before OS 3.0 Upgrade? Like I said I never took a backup before upgrade but iTunes actually showed a status message "Backing up iPhone".. does that mean I have a chance to recover my 2.x OS or only 2.x OS without jailbreak apps? Can someone point me to right direction ..? Cheers

Arrgh.. I think I messed it up some where.. could someone help me here. I upgraded to 3.0 . everything went cool.. after iPhone restarted.. it said I needed iTunes 8.2 to access & sync my iPhone. Downloaded iTunes 8.2 and installed and when I sync my iPhone it says connection error with iTunes Store. My screen looks very similar to when I purchased from O2.. animation asking me to connect to iTunes. Where did I go wrong?

Clicking on DOWNLOAD will only download the copy to your PC. If you click DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL.. it will download and upgrade straight away. I clicked DOWNLOAD ONLY, took the copy.. haven't installed it.

I have just finished downloading the OS 3.0. I haven't upgraded my iPhone Firmware since last October 2008, should I be waiting until Friday to upgrade or can I go ahead with upgrade and still Jailbreak the OS 3.0 when Dev Team releases the tool? Cheers
