Big Peace : A 2006 Taqiyya Warning About Tunisia’s Leading Candidate For Prime Minister

As a convinced opponent of Barack Obama's trainwreck of an administration, hurling us breackneck towards disasters large and small, I am puzzled by this "knee-jerk" posture of dubiousness towards Obama and the State Dept., as if their naivete' about a flourishing of democracy-Islamic-style were any greater than the previous administration's own willful blindess' and historical and cultural illiteracies w/regards to Iraq and Afghanistan. This of course doesn't get Obama off the hook, so to speak; but, let's not forget who launched this ME democracy- hit parade in the first place. The sad truth remains that "compassionate conservatism" (status quo RINO-Globalism) came with an *R* next to its name. Conservatives will do well to counter neoconservative ambitions, as they mirror the globalist visions of the democratic party by and large. But lets be fair in this regard and call the globalists out regardless of party affiliation. Bush=Obama=Romney=Hillary....One party, one foreign policy, and it's bad for America.

: Commies and Nazis and Protesters...

Indeed the democrats will be "punished " for their leftward lunges and aloof indifference, scapegoating and the rest. The real problem lies with the looming collapses of the housing market, the dollar being devalued by impending inflation and interest rate hikes to combat it, and the worst is far from over. It will likely hit just as the new GoP house, senate and President are sworn in, thus, the left will once again profit from blaming it all on the "extremist right-wing under whose watch the American economy imploded..." If this OWS lot are antsy now, just wait and see the cities on flame with rock 'n' roll in two years time. I'll bring the marshmallows. They should only set me back about 12 bucks per bag by then. 28 dollar a gallon gas, anyone? 30% inflation? That is when the revolution will begin in earnest, and it will only worsen and prolong our national miseries. Pray, America. Pray hard. This coming collapse/depression could make the 30's look like the 90's, and the 60's look like the 50's; the 50's in Budapest, that is....

NewsReal Blog : Peter Beinart: Funding NPR Is Your Patriotic Duty, You Ignoramus

Beinart is missing the obvious. NPR has been around for decades, and it is precisely on NPR's "watch" that his pet-grievance, "clueless-about-foreign-country- Americans" has actualized. Can't we all see what's coming next from the left w/regards to NPR? They need MORE FUNDING to do their vital national security work!!!! Does he really think that the average apolitical working stiff is pining for some NPR programming so that they can scratch that curious itch for information about the Indian subcontinent? NPR is nothing more than a remote outpost along the left media's Maginot line and Beinart's plea an extension of the "net neutrality" and fear of talk-radio meme. The networks are lost (Univision is now the number 1 TV network in the US!), the newspapers are broke and need government bailouts, and now those dastardly conservatives want the holy grail of NPR to falter, too? If NPR is vital to national security because they alone service the need for information about foreign events, then NPR goes to the front of the line of leftist initiatives that suck money and fail to deliver the goods. It's an example of their abject failure, not of their vital necessity, Beinart, since it's been on NPR's watch that the very ignorance of foreign nations/events that Beinart laments has materialized. Leftist solution? Blame the conservatives! After all, conservatives dominate the ranks of professors, teachers, unions and media-types that should be provoking and informing a curiosity about Indonesian jurisprudence amongst the troglodytes in flyover country, right? Clueless leftists!!!!

O'Donnell should do a "Bewitched" style blurb leading up to the election; a little 30 second ad showing her, just as Mr. Klein said, riding into D.C. on a broom Samantha style to sweep out corruption. Barack Obama as "Larry Tate"; the "bearded Marxist" as "Uncle Arthur" and Nancy Pelosi as the mother-in-law "Endora." Tag it with, "Unfortunately, in the real world the mess that our politicians in Washington have left won't just disappear with a wiggle of the chin. Vote for me if you want real change in Washington, without all of the hocus pocus." Disarm the critics with humor, like Underzog points out. Always effective.

NewsReal Blog : Crooks and Liars Pansy Thinks Sean Hannity's Audience Is Going to Kill Him

We must keep in mind that the left actually thinks "The Authoritarian Personality" is scientific, and therefore, factual. It ranks right up there with "McCarthyism" as things that "everybody knows" on the left. Everything to the "right" of their politics passes through those (and many other) lenses and comes out with a funny little mustache, a goose-step and bad intentions by rule. That liberals actually buy books like this speaks volumes about the "compassionate personality."

NewsReal Blog : Media Ignoring ObamaCare's Role in Sale of Catholic Hospitals

That could have been a devastating "October surprise" had the media bothered to actually cover this. The dissatisfaction level with incumbents is directly tied to the way that PPACA2010 was passed without popular consent----among others passed without popular consent----so this news would've sent voters, especially elderly voters, to the polls with a fresh insight into what our elected officials foisted upon us by ramming Obamacare down our throats without popular support.

NewsReal Blog : The New Miley Cyrus, Part 1

After seeing the beginnings of this transformation in Cyrus' image a couple of years ago, I'd made the comment to my wife several times that her dad needs his arse kicked. As a show business veteran he, of all people, should have seen what was coming and prepared his daughter accordingly. They even made a movie with roughly the same premise that is now playing out in real life. Shameful. From it's beginnings, "rock and roll" (for lack of a better catch-all term) has been about rebellion against traditional values. It's beginnings, like it or not, are rooted in West African tribalism, imported to the New World with the slaves, and transformed by exposure to the dominant Christian culture. The first "rock concerts" were no less than public voodoo rituals in New Orleans, from whence were birthed Creole, Jazz, Ragtime, as well as influenced traditional Celtic-style arrangments carried to America with immigrants and then transformed by the remnant Western African animist rhythms, and the slaves interaction with an imposed popular music into "negro spirituals" and eventually western swing, country, gospel, r&b and rock and roll. The terms themselves derive from the Western African traditions. "Jazz" is a reference to the ejaculation of the practitioner under the influence of the Loa/gods, akin to "speaking in tongues." "Cool" comes from a similar-sounded West African expression meaning the manner in which the priest/priestess handles the rituals. So this sexualization effect is at this popular music's roots. Unpopular in its implications, but nevertheless a fact. What I find most amusing about Cyrus' rationale, as well as with any other "artist" trying to justify their image or music, is when they use the "empowerment/ free speech/ push the envelope/ anti-authoritarianism/ stand up to "the man" meme, and are supported by the largest corporations on the planet in doing so. You don't get more mainstream than Disney or Sony music group. You aren't rebelling against "the man," sweetie. You're working for him. The pertinent question to ask would be, "why is 'the man' packaging rebellion and sexual promiscuity like ramen noodles, to be distributed to any and all members of the demographic with the largest disposable incomes in the world?" Sadly, by either the "fans" or the "artists" that question never seems to be raised.

NewsReal Blog : Atheist Richard Dawkins Fails Religion 101

Dawkins is apparently unaware of a whole stream of historical scholarship that suggests the "ancient Greeks" were inspired by at least one or two of those "desert tribesman" whose reputations arrived in Greece long before the Greeks came to rule over them. Dawkins and Maher fail to appreciate just how earth-shattering the effects of the words "In the beginning..." actually were/are. Prior to that divide between space/time and "eternity" philosophers were nearly unanimous, and societies universally unanimous, in subscribing to the circular/steady state theory of origins and space/time. That, in essence, is the difference between a generic paganism and Christian theism. A pagan system is circular, and the Christian theist system is a beginning that stretches out in a potentially infinite way. Which describes observable reality better? Presuppositions largely determine potential courses of inquiry, so this revolution in thinking about space/time changed presuppositions, changed thought itself and changed history. Somehow those "desert tribesman" were able to glimpse and summarize Big Bang cosmology several thousand years before LeMaitre (A Catholic priest, by the way). Modern physics describes a universe that came into being out of "nothing" a finite time ago. This universe is akin to materials rolling over a surface made of vibrating strings, stretched out and exhibiting quantum behaviors (i.e. electrons are simultaneously local and ubiquitous), which amount to strange paradoxes--absolute vs. potential infinites; local vs. ubiquitous electrons; observation's effects upon matter; etc. Somehow, those "desert tribesman" were likening the universe to a stretched out garment or tent and waxing philosophic about the strange, paradoxical interaction between eternity and time 500 years or more before Plato was born. Odd, isn't it. Stick to biology, Mr. Dawkins. And Bill Maher should stick to what he knows best. Playboy bunnies and "professional sex workers".

NewsReal Blog : Hollywood: Conservatives Are Killing Gay Teens

Shades of a hallowed liberal tradition emerges, to wit: Rush Limbaugh's "divisive rhetoric" being at the root of McVeigh's anger at the government in 1995. Remember that? The oddest thing to me is that after so many years of bullying in schools for any number of reasons, why now are there all of these stories emerging, just as DADT and Prop 8 rulings are in the national spotlights? Why, after 40 years of tolerance-inducing platitudes, marches, rallies, red ribbons, celebrities, magazines, a "Gay" cable television station, "The Real World" episodes and Will and Grace in syndication are there suddenly a spike in teen suicides over being gay? In the 80's, Tipper and friends blamed heavy metal for a statistically insignificant rise in teen suicides. Now, her friends are blaming social conservativism. I suspect liberal book-cooking, which is typical leftism. It's straight out of the progressive playbook----During any given election year, find a statistically insignificant anomaly (because who wants to point out that dead kids happen, have happened and will continue to happen---it's called history and the human condition) blame republican policies for the new "emerging crisis", propose anti-traditional (i.e. "progressive") solutions, and then ignore until next election cycle. Rinse, repeat. If support for Prop 8 and keeping DADT in place caused bullying of gay teens, what was the reason before DADT and Prop 8's existence? And why, since they've been ruled invalid by judges, aren't gay teens celebrating rather than offing themselves? Gay celebrities offer encouragement and role models; straight celebrities their support; churches "honoring" gay unions; judges overturning any hint of inequality before the law? Shouldn't gay teens be at their most hopeful point in the history of political gay teens? Odd, don't you think? Next to "Blame Bush" is "blame tradition, social conservatism and religion in general." This type of non sequitur-ism is part and parcel of the leftist election-year strategy.

NewsReal Blog : I Now Pronounce You Temporary Lovers

One of my favorite Chesterton quotes: "Marriage is a duel to the death, which no man of honor should decline." Unfortunately, romance is sold as that giddy feeling when a new love interest is found, or as Matthew Macconaughey and Sandra Bullock sampling wine and cheese on a moonlit beach. But as Chesterton would be the first to point out, this is a myth. Romance, by it's very nature and definition, is a journey through dangerous territories and circumstances, and the ultimate goal of all adventures are to return home. Without a home to return to (which is what this transient nature of "relationships" will always lack), true romance is impossible. With no real sense for romance, the young (and getting older) are avoiding the one adventure that will get them truly home. It is the "perpetual crisis" that is the ultimate romantic adventure. It's tragic that people are unaware of this and have been sold a bill of goods.

"Just think if the Catholic Church shed its trappings of wealth and increased its outreach to the poor." Considering that the "trappings of wealth" consist mostly of things like priceless artifacts and art-work, architecture and Church properties, it sounds like you and the Jihadis agree on this one. My parish Pastor, who is responsible for the spiritual well-being of hundreds of souls, the smooth operation of the parish and is on-call 24/7 makes less than a thousand dollars a month before taxes.
Let's see, 87 years ago the KKK marched 100,000 strong through the streets of New York and this means that Sarah Palin is, in the THC-ladened brain cell remnants of Ollie Stoned, as crazy as suffragettes and Father Coughlin. And he is asked his opinion on politics, why? Ah yes, because he makes up stories. Personally, I stopped watching at Platoon. Anyone who could watch Charlie Sheen's impression of Keanu Reeves' monotone indifference to human emotions and not yell "somebody hire an actor for this role, please!!" isn't much of a director, in my opinion.

Let's follow Ms. Ironside's logic about unwanted and suffering children, shall we? Hellen Keller? Aborted. Beethoven? Euthanized. Christy Brown? Aborted or euthanized, and no Oscar for Daniel Day Lewis. Ray Charles? Put out of his misery, so no RCA recordings for us. Life IS a gift. A gift to all of us. Even soulless leftists are gifts in their own way, reminding us of what is at stake, and that politics is war by other means.
Of course, Obama cited words that Jesus never spoke as a reason for him becoming a Christian, and then misquoted the "Golden Rule" before giving a nod to "seeing God in other people" which hints at, not Christianity, but some Oprah version of paganism couched in Christian-ese. Given the numbers of Americans that Pew says are ignorant of religion, including their own, this does not surprise me much; although, the cynic in me wonders if the Pew research poll wasn't released just in time for Obama's newly-espoused ignorance of the Christianity to which he converted. He went on to say that abortion should be "safe, legal and rare", voicing the popular Clinton-ism on support for abortion on demand. Excuse me, Mr. President (oh most intelligent President we've ever had, according to his tingling-legged fans), but what other "Constitutional rights" should be safe, legal and rare, in your learned, Constitutional-scholars opinion? Never mind. We already know.

NewsReal Blog : "C.S.I." Premiere Exploits Justin Bieber to Target Tea Party, Says Breitbart

Maybe someone should inform the writers and producers of CSI: Sheboygan that The Tea Party desires a return to Constitutional restraints upon the federal government. As such, they are in no way anti-government since the Constitution established, you know, a federal government. Bakunin was to the "right" of Marx and so was considered by those masterful Marxist propagandists as "rightist", because Marx said so. It's little different than the way the Bolsheviks labeled anyone who questioned or opposed them as "counter-revolutionary", "reactionary" or fascist, and the left today calls anyone in favor of smaller, less-powerful and decentralized government a "fascist" or a "Nazi" (which is an oxymoron, to say the least). Emma Goldman supported the Soviet system, until she actually had to live under it for a while. Anarchism is the inbred cousin of Karl Marx and the Parisian Commune.
