By your reasoning, no couple with fertility issues could become parents - is that the case? The law of the land (civil law) needs to provide my existing (and very happy thank you) family unit the basic rights and protections that straight people take for granted. I know plenty of natural parents by the way (according to your definition) who have 'ended up' parents and are parenting horribly (in my opinion).
