I live in a duplex and the people next door have rabbits that get out all the time and end up in my yard pooping. They don't clean up after the rabbits and they attract rats. My cat never goes outside, in an urban area it's stupid and dangerous. But to kill cats (or any animals and don't think I haven't thought about killing the stupid dirty rabbits that get into my yard) that you KNOW belong to someone else and isn't feral should be against the law. PERIOD. There are other ways to deal with issues like this. If I knew where this idiot lived, I'd get a cougar to take care of the rabbits (the pets they occasionally eat). Even simple dog kennels would keep cats out, how small were those cats or how big are the fences? I hope the guy is at least cited and fined. Which means you can certainly buy any book your children (or you) want to read. But here is a surprise...not everyone CAN afford books or computers or internet access (which, if you want a job, is essential). Hence the need for libraries since the days of the first printing press. Benjamin Franklin started the first library in the US. Seems to me, libraries and animal welfare should be as important as downtown art. As for politicians not having any sense, you will not get any argument from me on that point.
