Looks like he did it again with PR..... It barely works half the time, but he is super desperate to get noticed, so he releases it anyways, lol....

It prompts you whether or not to update. Just click "no".

I'd be glad to if you said what the problem was.

What you should do is something obviously not attainable without a jailbreak, such as MakeItMine. Using your 3G (jailbroken), set the banner as something random, back it up, then restore to it with the 3GS. Then take a photo of the "About" page in settings, where it would obviously show telltale signs of being a 3GS, such as serial number, with the modified banner in view at the same time. That would make my jaw drop. :)

My old one had that problem, but I couldn't fix it no matter what I tried. It doesn't make much sense though, because my current one works with gps just fine, jailbroken and unlocked with US on 3.0 :/ Dunno man.

The permanent unlock requires you to place a code in a firmware file which happens to match 2 (3??) other codes inside the device. They have found a few ways to get this code, but all of them take more than a year, even on multiple machines, to unlock one device. It's fairly useless at the moment.
