Well, we might as well just give up then. Since it hasn't been built yet, it never will be and we should keep on burning coal and gas forever.

The current crop of defeatist, no-can-do UK engineers explains brilliantly why the UK has no major tech or serious engineering companies compared to the US. A right bunch of navel gazers who would rather moan than innovate.

Here are some real numbers then - a Severn barrage hydroelectric tidal dam would generate around 2 GW average continuous electrical output - several times this at peak power. It takes around 3.8kWh to turn 1 litre of water into hydrogen, producing 111 grams of hydrogen. That means s 2GW power source could produce around 700 tons of hydrogen per day (2 billion watt-hours divided by 34kilowatt hours per kg hydrogen x 24 hours)

Hydrogen contains 33kWh per kg when burned, so you could burn those 700 tonnes of hydrogen and obtain 23GWh thermal energy. You just need a way to store 700 tonnes hydrogen, and to distribute it. Its difficult, but hardly rocket science.

Critical Race Theory has nothing to offer. It pigeonholes BAME people as permanent victims and white people as permanent oppressors. If you disagree with this then you must have "unconscious bias" and be sent for re-education.

It is an ideology which brooks no dissent.

You have no point to make, so nothing is proven.

Take your pick. Electrolyse water and store hydrogen gas. Use tidal power to lift heavy concrete weights to a height and then release them slowly to generate power. Build big batteries. There are lots of options.

I was wondering when that exploding cigar you were smoking was going to go off.

Thankfully, you (and all the other armchair authoritarians) don't get to decide who does and doesn't get to speak on this subject, as much as cancel culture probably revs your motor.

Do you understand the difference between events which are discrete and continuous? Construction and decommissioning of turbines are discrete events, and a gas or coal fired power station operating is continuous. If you've discovered a way to burn coal without generating dirty exhaust gases then go ahead and make a billion pounds from your invention.

I fear that you are just another tiresome gammon who opposes renewable energy because he believes climate change is a hoax. Another 20 years and you'll all be gone.

In much the same way that Mein Kampf provides tools of analysis. Like I said, critical race theory is a hateful ideology cloaking itself in the robes of pseudoscience.

A poor example - the French decapitated their monarch and then installed a despotic emperor only 15 years later.

Turbines last 25 years, not 14 years, and the blades can indeed be recycled: https://www.bbc.com/news/amp/business-51325101

Again, there is a vast difference between a one-off environmental cost to manufacture or dispose of something, versus a power plant technology which emits filth every single hour it is operational.

It is racial indoctrination masquerading as legitimate science. Perhaps you think we should teach phrenology too?
