It's just infuriating, and I think like so many other people, I feel pretty helpless. This school apparently even had an up-to-date security procedure, locking the doors at a certain time every morning in an attempt to prevent unauthorized entry. Armed, trained security guards are a great idea. I'd thought about that, too. I'm not sure where districts would get the money to pay them, though. You can't prevent nut jobs from EVER attempting mass murders again, but I think taking appropriate steps to make it damn near impossible to harm children while they're in school should be a top priority. Whatever it takes....those schools should be like little fortresses. This whole thing is just very sad. The Reds were quite fortunate this year that all of their starting 5 avoided the injury bug (until Cueto in the postseason). No way they're that lucky again next year. Arroyo is getting older, and Bailey has only had one full season in the majors now, right? I'd hold onto Leake for sure. You can never have enough pitching. I want a leadoff guy, too, but not at the expense of a "spare" starting pitcher. I don't know if anyone at AAA is ready, and you know what you'll get with Leake. I think the Reds will struggle to find decent offensive help this offseason. There just doesn't seem to many "good fits" out there for them. Something has to change with the offense, without doubt. I don't know if it's Baker's philosophy, or if it has more to do with Brook Jacoby. But something has to change.
