/Film : Trailer For Miss Nobody

This reminds me of a brilliant Michael Caine film called "A Shock to the System", right down to the first victim being an accident that he then capitalizes on.

Freemasons in Washington, D.C.? There's an original idea that screams to be made. In fact I'd say a movie like that would be a national treasure.

/Film : TRON Sequel Will Be Titled... TRON?

That's not a bad idea. Considering the nature of the plot, "TRON REBOOTED" would actually be an appropriate title in this case.

/Film : Retro Pop Culture Smell, I Hated Witch Mountain, and Andy Flickman to Direct Monster Attack Network

Totally agree. As nostalgic as I am over the original Escape to Witch Mountain, if you revisit it today, you'd find it tepid and a little cheap. Remember, these were low-budget films the Disney Studios were churning out at the time, and overall Disney's sensibility of "hip" was about ten years behind the times. I've seen Tron recently, and it too definitely has Retro Pop Culture Smell all over it. I just hope nobody waxes nostalgic over 'The Cat From Outer Space' or 'Unidentified Flying Oddball' enough to want to remake them. Incidentally, the sequel to the original film, Return From Witch Mountain (1978), besides featuring weak performances from Bette Davis and Christopher Lee, has a pretty kickass 'force throw' battle between Tony and Tia that I'm fairly positive George Lucas ripped off for 'The Empire Strikes Back' two years later.

Please, God, don't let Mickey Rourke's performance in 'The Wrestler' be just a fluke. Please let it be an honest-to-goodness comeback and not a Travolta-style, from 'Pulp Fiction' to 'Wild Hogs' fluke.

Wil Wheaton (a geek's geek) has some pretty phenomenally positive things to say about how faithful it is. http://wilwheaton.typepad.com/wwdnbackup/2009/02/... I trust his opinion as a like-minded peer.

I also worked with Dave Filoni in his pre-Lucasfilm career, and not only is he a great guy, but anyone who knows him knows he's the PERFECT choice to helm a franchise fraught with fanboy gravitas. We're talking about a guy who hand-crafted his own LOTR costume out of frakkin' duct tape!
