Just drop him down a hole, Joel!
Send him out on a train, Jane!
Feed him to the Whammy, Sammy!
Drop-kick him out back, Jack!

There must be 101 ways to leave a game show.... :)

The question format is similar to "Duel": Place chips on one or more of the multiple-choice answers, then lose the chips that were placed on incorrect answers. I'd rather see "Duel" come back than this game.

For a celebrity tournament, the questions were tougher this year, but that was because they invited only "good" contestants to play. The material was still relatively easier than that for civilian contestants. The final jeopardy clues this week would have been of round one $800 difficulty, except for Friday's, which was the only one which I didn't get right all week.

I made a working version of this, and it resembles another familiar show.

spin#--Whammies--spin value--total score
1st---4---100---100
2nd---5---100---200
3rd---6---100---300
4th---7---200---500
5th---8---500---*1000* "safe haven"
6th--10---1000---2000
7th--12---2000---4000
8th--14---4000---8000
9th---16---8000---16000
10th---18---9000---*25000* "safe haven"
11th--21---25000---50000
12th--24---50000---100,000
13th--27---150,000---250,000
14th---30---250,000---500,000
15th--36---500,000---1,000,000 *GAME OVER!*

It's not as easy as it looks.

I created a version of PYL that had "bakned' spins, and the best way to handle them is when a player wants to use them, he has to depositt his *entire stash* into the "Passed" column and play them himself. This prevents a player from withdrawal of spins just for the purpose of passing them to opponents.

Also, banked spins can only be withdrawn if there are other spins in play. This prevents a player from pulling out a spin at what would be the last minute if the final spin moved a second-place player into first place. When there is only one (unbanked) spin left in the game, the host would issue a "last call" warning for players to convert banked spins into passed spins.

...And if you really want to go back in time, there's Celebrity Whew! The contestants were playing solo for the run of the show until the celebirites showed up and made it a "team" effort. Just what all hopeful winners need, an idiot with an attitude to help you lose the game. (See: Osmond Pyramid)

A variation of the Final Jeopardy! question for October 8th appears in today's Millionaire epidode.
