Motivational Blog : Overcoming the Fear of Public Speaking

There's a difference between fear and nervousness. Fear can stop you. I remember experiencing shaking, trembling of the lips, sweaty palms, it was awful. After I overcame my fear of public speaking, I still got nervous which isn't a bad thing. Sometimes I was nervous out of excitement to give a good presentation. Other times, it was because I felt unprepared but either way, it wasn't fear.

Yeah, the important thing is realizing you're being distracted, doing what you need to do, and getting back on track as fast as possible. Thanks for commenting, Alicia.

Motivational Blog : Dealing with Frustration

Is there anything you can do to change the results? If not, don't stress over it. There's nothing you can do about it anyway. Work on what you can change. This may mean to review the sections you didn't do as well a bit more so if you take the test again, you'll do better.

Motivational Blog : Reminders of Success 3 - Success Takes Consistent Action

I've gone through the same thing as you back in my school days. Let me ask you, why do you want to be first in your class? To get a good paying job? To get praise? What is the main reason? Is it for you or your parents? I believe that a lot of staying focused on a long term goal comes down to how strong your reasons are for wanting to accomplish whatever you're trying to accomplish. If the desire is weak, it's easy to feel discouraged or get off track. So revisit your reasons for wanting to achieve this goal in the first place. If that doesn't work, either come up with better reasons or choose a different goal.

Motivational Blog : How to Make 2012 an Epic Year

Hi, I'm not sure how I can help but if I was in your situation, I would take some time to refocus on what's important to me in life. I would define my purpose in life at the moment and use that as fuel in order to work on my goals. It's hard to be motivated while working on something when you forget the main reason why you're working on it in the first place. I've gotten into this situation several times myself. When you forget your purpose, the activities start to seem meaningless and that can really destroy your motivation and enthusiasm. Personally, when I have these moments, I type my thoughts down in a journal. It almost always helps me to refocus and get back on track. Of course, this is just what I do. Whether or not it works for you, I'm not sure but give it a try.

Motivational Blog : Tips on Overcoming Fear

Having anxiety or stressing over an exam is common. There are many ways to deal with this but for me, I dealt with it by preparing for the exam as much as I can. Before the exam, you're pretty much in control of how much you can study. Once the exam begins, it just comes down to what you can recall. One of the things that I was taught to do if I was feeling nervous before an exam was to tense up my body as much as I can for a few seconds and then slowly release the tension. Regulating your breathing and realizing that in the whole scheme of life, the results of this one test won't make that much of an impact. Of course, these suggestions are best used if you're actually prepared for the exam. Try different things to see what works best for you. Even things like getting plenty of sleep and eating healthy foods will help as well. I hope this helps.

Motivational Blog : The Real Me

Depends on the situation but normally, typing in my journal helps to sort my thoughts out, identify the challenges, and come up with solutions to get out of that state. Another thing that helps is knowing that feeling sorry for myself isn't going to magically make things better and the longer I wait to get back on track, the more time I'm wasting. I also think the years of feeding my mind positive material helps as well. My brain won't let me feel depressed for too long. My positive self talk usually kicks in and drowns out the negative self talk. A lot of this usually happens while I'm typing my thoughts in my journal.
