MetsBlog.com : Note: 100 Men Left on Base

Sheff is not the problem, lets not throw dirt at him. I bet you werent complaining when he hit that game tying home run. Sheff may not be batting what church is..but he's basically scored and produced just as much. Which is sad considering he's batting .182 and Church is batting way over .300

I was just going to tell him the same thing. Hard to have faith if you seen the same thing happening for 2+ years.

If you sit there and tell me that watching the Mets play over the last 3 years has NEVER made you bust out a few bad words AND want to throw or throw something at your tv...i'll sit here and call you a liar. Deal?

Three years this has been happening, and every time i see runners in scoring position..i go "Bet they choke this up". It's early, but this is getting old and it's hard to have confidence when you seen this same pattern for the last 335 games. Only consistent thing is that a bunch of fans watching the games at home are throwing f-bombs and wanting to destroy their tv, while watching these games.

I'm gonna say that fans are just not happy with the fact that we choked 2 years straight..they didn't bring in a bat or quality starter, then they raised prices...AGAIN. If we got off to a hot start attendance might be better, but as of now this team is under performing for a third year in a row.

I thought about Manny too. He pulled a Murphy and dropped a ball, but then hit 2 home runs to make up for it.

Worthless huh? So what are the Mets as an offense? Since they can't seem to capitalize on RISP with less than 2 outs. Yes it's early, but this has been a problem with them the last 2 years

I wouldn't be surprised if they kept him. Apparently their bullpen has 8+ ERA

So if that Happens, you rather go with Niese who can't get AAA hitters out? Now what if Maine has issues? Figgy isn't Pelfrey but he's a better option than Redding. Their must be something up that we don't know about.

MetsBlog.com : Quotes: Mets OF Gary Sheffield from Citi Field

Any Player that says it has always been his dream to play for the Mets should be welcomed with open arms, especially if he's the nephew of one of the best Pitchers in this organizations history. Give him a chance to play and don't worry about his character thats not our concern, thats the players and managements. People are ready to rip a guy with these credentials but go to war for a guys like Church, Tatis and Murphy who put together havent accomplished nearly as much as Sheffield. I like them, but Sheffield may still have something left WE DONT KNOW. We took a chance on Tatis who most fans were against and now look. Sheffield * 5 time silver slugger * 9 time All-star * 1997 World Champion * 1992 lead the NL in BA and runs scored * lifetime average is .292 with a slugging % of .516. What are we really losing here? 400k.. Detroit just lost 13+ million

Plenty of people thought Delgado was done at the beginning of last season too. For 400k they get the bootleg version of Manny, how can you honestly complain about that. I like Church and Murphy, but c'mon we took a chance on TATIS and he didnt play in the Majors for years and look how that turned out.

Hmm..Marlon Anderson or Gary Sheffield? You get him for nothing and if Tatis can have a year like last year after not being in the majors for 2-3yrs. How bad can it really be to sign him for 400k? Id hate to see him goto Philly and be productive in that tiny ballpark. All these Anti-Sheffields will disappear once he produces.

Completely agree. To many people are on this cancer nonsense. This team didn't have a cancer the last two years and what happened? Sad part is this is one of the few blogs where Mets fans are so concerned about a players personality.
