It is interesting that if the show is so leftist, the writers are sure emphasizing the drone strike, which is a war policy primarily of the Obama administration. Clearly the Islamic terrorists are not shown in a good light, from the Nazir character who is a master manipulator, to the imam, who is so willing to turn a blind eye to a plot being hatched under his mosque. I am as conservative as they come, and I am intrigued by the story of Homeland. The message I receive is that the war on terror is a alive and patient. Beware. I thought she was good in Kramer vs Kramer; and I enjoyed her strength in A river Wild. But her politics have turned me off. She may be overrated; but all actors are. None are worth the money they earn or the accolades they receive. Forget actors. Our culture needs to put their attention onto everyday heroes like teachers, who have to perform and instruct daily with little or no recognition and very little monetary appreciation. Every character on Glee is a stereotype from the dumb jock to the black gospel-singing, overweight diva to the so-called abstinence leader who got pregnant. The story lines were nonsense with kids and adults showing no thought to their actions. The kids and adults played musical partners as couples as well as singing partners. The "teachers," and I use that term loosely, have no sense of propriety or morale compass as to what is appropriate in a school setting. And as for bullying, one of the prominent characters is the biggest, yet most successful bullies on television, Sue Sylvester. Her character is an enigma; but she is most successful as the queen bully. Notice my complaints have little to do with the homosexual themes, although those characters and situations are so stereotypical it is laughable.
