Hi everyone, Sorry about the comments. We're not sure where they went, but will look into it. We're doing some site maintenance, so that might be the culprit. Apologies. Adam

Mondoweiss : Growing understanding of the Nakba in Israel is sign of 'deepening fissures in the Iron Wall'

Hi everyone, First, I wasn't the translator of the Ynet piece, it was Yuval Orr and Talia Fried (listed at the end). I agree it would be great to get a source of translated Hebrew press, unfortunately I don't have those skills. Second, I'm trying to get an update on Phil and promise to post one as soon as I do. The last I heard from him was on Tuesday when I posted this - http://www.philipweiss.org/mondoweiss/2009/05/mos...

I would tend to agree with you Rowan, but I still think it's notable that there are several similar bills and they are being introduced by committee chairs no less. There does get to be a time when the "far-Right lunatic fringe" gets enough numbers to get things done. I didn't mention it in the post, but one of the predecessors to the Habayit Hayehudi party was the Moledet Party whose main plank was the ethnic cleaning (aka "transfer") of Palestinians from the state of Israel.

Not likely. Phil will be heading out the Middle East, I'll be staying back here to watch the store. I'll be posting and tweeting from here and Phil will be posting when he can.

Mondoweiss : Dragged out of AIPAC conference, a Jewish protester aches for the song to part that sea of fear

Just to be clear, the post was written by Rae Abileah. I agree it took great courage. You can reach Rae at rae@codepinkalert.org if you want to pass along your admiration. I don't know anything about Rep. Lungren, sorry.

This is Adam. I'm going to post something soon on the age of folks in the crowd. Some people there did mention it and I think has some political significance. More coming soon.

We just thought that have a comments section with more tools (threaded conversations, the thumbs up/down thing) could help the discussion. We'll see how it goes. We want to make the comments section as useful (and spam free) as possible.
