And if you believe what McLame is selling, you're just as gullible as everyone thinks you are.

Well, I did my part, I voted against McLame, and convinced most of my family to as well. Unfortunately we didn't have many options. Hayworth lost a lot of votes over the huckster issue. Truly sad, I'm probably going to vote Democrat in November for the first time in my life. Though if theres a decent independent in the race, I'll choose them instead. Arizona is screwed in the Attorney Generals race too. Vote for a soon to be felon, or a Democrat. Not much of a choice there.

Big Government : Helen Needs To Go!

I would rather she not be forced out because of her opinions. Her anti-semetic bias is obvious, however that shouldn't prevent her from being a reporter, or from doing her job. I've always hated the left using political correctness to silence freedom of speech, I would rather the right not engage in that as well.

Big Government : Reason.tv: How to Save a Dying Ocean (Hint: Stop Treating it Like a Public Restroom)

I agree with this in principle. I think its a worthy goal. There is a lot of overfishing thats taking place. And Japan is responsible for a good chunk of it. However I question any article that rants about illegally catching dolphins, or whales. Sorry, but Minke Whales are not endangered, and catching dolphins, while not something I'd support, certainly isn't illegal. At least not in Japan.

Big Government : Census Workers Blow Whistle on Hiring Fraud

Not a matter of whether or not we deserved to work. We were told, indeed, promised we would be employed for 13 weeks. That we'd be required to work 40 hours a week during that period. Instead of this, we got 3 weeks. Who was guilty of fraud here? The workers for 'working slow' after this, or the government for promising an additional 10 weeks of work, and not delivering? Getting shafted out of a promised 6k, I know how I felt about it. And as I said before, after that, I don't blame people for saying 'work slow'.

Big Government : Census Workers Blow Whistle on Hiring Fraud

Try to look at this from another perspective. When I was hired by the Census last year, we were told that we would be working full time for 13 weeks. 3 weeks later, we were all out of work. The people working now, many of them were working then, including the supervisors. So when they say, work slow, what they're really saying is, we got screwed out of 10 weeks of work, because we all worked too well. We got the job done so fast, we all lost out. I understand it from a government waste perspective, I also understand it from the perspective of someone who got terminated due to lack of work, despite being promised 10 additional weeks. Right now the NRFU operation is winding down. Not much left to it, so this will all be meaningless very soon, except that hopefully the people at the census, can set things up so that they run better 10 years from now.

Big Government : Pennsylvania Grants Film Maker Shyamalan $35 Million Tax Break

Wait, explain this to me... How does giving a movie production a tax credit, translate to subsidizing a movie? The producers aren't being given money, they're simply not having to pay so much in taxes. Call me crazy, but why is that a bad thing? I want a tax credit too!

Big Government : Debating Church and State in Texas

You neglected to mention, that at the time, quite a few of the states had an established, organized religion. This more then anything suggests that while they meant for this to apply to the Federal government, they certainly did not expect it to be pushed onto their states. Had they considered this, they would have tightened the restrictions on the Federal Government even further.

Big Government : US Census Workers Knocking on Your Neighbors' Doors, Looking for Snitches in Memphis

Guys, it doesn't matter if people are in the country illegally. If they were living here on April 1st, the census workers are obligated to count them. And like it or not, if you won't answer the question, then they have to go and ask your neighbors etc the same questions in order to get the information required. If its too much of a bother for you, then fill out your census form and mail it back. And tell your neighbors to do the same.
