I think he picked him because he think he's a nice guy. I think everyone spends too much time reading all kinds of garbage into all kinds of things. Just because he picked Rick Warren doesn't change his views on the matter, besides Obama doesn't believe in gay marriage either. He thinks everyone deserves equal rights but stops at the marriage aspect. People will fight gay marriage forever. I can't see them ever winning this one. If they want to compromise and call it civil union then they will win their rights. Why does it have to be called marriage? Whatever Obama wants is ok with me. We must trust him and his judgement.
