KABOBfest : The Kill Team and the Culture of Militarism

Thanks for this Sana. Like you said, the most important point raised here isn't the culture within the military, but the militarized culture within society as a whole that's made the average man numb to these horrors.

KABOBfest : Libya In Perspective

There's a difference between this revolution being cooked up in DC, London and Tel Aviv, and Western powers rushing to co-opt a revolution that threatens to topple a client regime. Too many people seem to view the fact that Western powers have rushed to denounce Gaddafi (relatively speaking, they didn't criticize him for several days after the uprising began) as some sort of indication that the revolution isn't clean. Despite the many questions being thrown around about the rebels' integrity, they have demanded, clearly and repeatedly, that no foreign forces enter Libya.

"Palestinian sources said Fayyad views the campaign as "too Israeli" and tilted in favor of Israel..." As opposed to his campaign of hunting down anyone who resists Israeli colonialism. That's not too Israeli at all.

KABOBfest : Suggested Facebook Photo Talking-Points for Israel

I would never pretend there is a moral equivalence between an occupation army's tank gunner captured from his tank as it patrolled a captive population, and those arrested for their thoughts or actions in the name of ending said occupation. The latter should not even be in jail; the former deserves nothing less.

Nobody cares what bigoted Zionists such as yourself 'understand' as fact without evidence or context. But Israel DOES ban all Palestinian prisoners kidnapped from the Gaza Strip into israel (in a blatant and direct violation of the Geneva Conventions, which explicitly bars occupying powers from removing prisoners from the occupied territory), from being visited by their families.

OK sure. So tell me, do you want pictures of him handcuffed and blindfolded while his captors pose and smirk around him? You know, most Arabs assume that ain't how decent human beings act.

You mean like the video released of him last year showing him to be relatively healthy? Or would you prefer his captors to release pictures of him bound and blindfolded while they pose for mocking photos around him? Zionists are so fucking stupid with their lame talking points.

KABOBfest : Harvard Divests From Israel

While of course I applaud divestment from Israel everywhere, I think we should be skeptical that this was a moral decision-seems simply like a financial decision. I think it'll be a long time yet before Harvard joins the BDS train.

KABOBfest : Why I am celebrating the first Arab American Miss USA

If Rima’s victory tonight means a limitation in the ignorantly racist comments I hear all too frequently from strangers, then I’m celebrating. Yeah but, it doesn't mean that. All it means is that you don't mind sexual objectification in the name of acceptance. Sorry May, I can't agree with you less on this one.
