Fine, I guess it was the writers and Hasbro that made me jaded first and foremost. With Season 3 in general, then Twilicorn, then EqG, then fucking Flash Sentry, I just don't have the faith in them I once had, and I find it harder to enjoy pone. And I really didn't mean to insult by calling him easily entertained. I was once like him, loving just about every episode. Whatever though. Pointless arguing this, either S4 will be good or it will be mediocre or worse. And I'm stuck on the ride all the while.

In my opinion there's plenty of reason to "worship" her, but it's not any different than the people who blindly love just about anything McCarthy puts out. Calling people who liked earlier FiM "Faust Worshipers" is no different than calling people who liked S3 and EqG "Hasdrones", so let's do neither, eh?

Most of both season 1 and 2 were pretty gold, say what you want, while season 3 was the epitome of mediocrity. Maybe S4 will be good, but if anything this hyping worries me more than if it wasn't hyped. I find products that the creator hypes a ton usually fall very short in most's expectations.

There were still people complaining about the blatant fanservice. Not saying basic background appearances were detrimental, but the Derpy speaking role probably crossed the line when it comes to fanon references. Gamer Luna wouldn't make sense and would be pretty fucking off-the-wall. It'd just cause a bunch of bitching and would probably be distracting in the show even if it was just a background thing. The difference between Gamer Luna and Derpy is that Derpy was a random background pony while Gamer Luna would change a previously defined character. Maybe a Gamer Luna reference will unfortunately makes its way to the comic (I doubt it will under Price/Cook though) since it loves references so much, but other than that, no.

Why do you have to have stupid fanon in the show anyways? I'm sure the writers are more than capable of coming up with their own content without resorting to distracting fanon that little girls wouldn't even understand. Most fan content either wouldn't make sense in the show, isn't suitable for a girl's show, or is stupid in the first place. Just keep fanon out entirely and all will be well.
