It is mind boggling that anyone believes that the govt should be able to seize almost half of someone's wealth. If this bill does not qualify as a usurpation, I don't know what does. Usurp : to seize and hold in possession by force or without right THROW THE BUMS OUT IN 2010!!! I LOVE THE IDEA OF SENDING PAPER FISH TO CONGRESS AND THE WHITE HOUSE! They say people should report opposition to healthcare "reform" to an e-mail address. Let's show them how fishy their plan is! And now, the far lefties now in charge of this nation want to compile lists of names of those standing up FOR this country and it's founding? Don't they realize with each move they make they are awakening more and more citizens to their hypocrisy, lies, and destructive policies? I think that might be a good idea, but given govt's history with such things, it would probably just be the start of such things. First cancer, then diabetes, then heart disease, and sooner or later, most people would be in the "free" centers. I would like to see some type of catastrophic insurance coverage that all Americans only pay a few dollars a month into. It could have a very high "deductable" of sorts set by income level. It could be used to prevent having to enter bankruptcy due to medical bills. That would also keep ancillary businesses affected by one's bankruptcy from losing money too. I would insist that the money for this fund be kept out of Congress' hands and have strict oversight. Or, I wouldn't mind if the govt worked to improve the county health department system. Encourage young doctors just out of med school (way to pay off school bills) or those older doctors wanting semi-retirement to work there (way of giving back to community). Then, write laws that protect ER departments from lawuits for sending all non-life threatening cases to such centers or to other primary care facilities. That's my two cents, anyway!

When that doesn't work, I'm sure he will childishly rant about how evil & stupid conservatives are. Woo woo...now there's a real winner, huh? I do not question his intelligence...I actually find it sad that he is so brainwashed in his ideology that he is incapable of recognizing the impracticality of such socialistic policies. Or maybe he is just not intellectually honest enough to admit when he's been given the factual smack down!

Why do you feel the need to be so sarcastic in your response? Are you incapable of having a reasonable discussion on a topic? I am a proponent of the 2nd Amendment. I have yet to see a gun control law that criminals follow. Such laws only serve to punish the law-abiders and they give criminals more defenseless victims.

Hey Suzie. Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I too have seen the wrath of those so driven by a particular issue or belief that they lose all sense of decency or reason. I have thought about not posting here either, but I came to the conclusion that leaving will not make this site better. Standing up to those who treat people with disrespect and belittlement, or who are intolerant of another's beliefs is what I choose to do. I hope you do the same, or we will lose another good person hoping to make America all that she can be! A thicker skin only leads to a thicker skull, where one becomes desensitized to that which should offend. Never give up....never give in. :-)

First, you shouldn't quote an article without providing a reference link to it. Second, Medicare is full of waste, abuse, and fraud. Third, Medicare was designed as a program in which all paid into, a trust fund was established which was intended to grow over time but instead was raided every year by BOTH parties and replaced with IOU's. If the money would have been left untouchable, Medicare might not be in deficit. The govt cannot run anything efficiently. Fourth, if Medicare is sooooo great, why do people buy supplemental policies from PRIVATE INSURANCE to cover all of the coverage gaps?

" Funny how you always seem to ignore the facts that are against you, huh? We have poor lifestyle choices, higher infant mortality (due to the increased use of invitro/multiple births), higher accident & murder rates. THAT is what accounts for our lower life expectancy rate. Read the last sentence of the quote above. I have said before, reform insurance pricing, access, etc. But why fundamentally change a system for 50 million that either do not want or cannot afford insurance at the expense of th 250 million that are satisfied with it?
