What is lazy? I haven't say anything about worsening perceptions about the US. It is just naive to think that the US became the "source" of all our problems just after 2003. The anti US rethoric have been there well before. Castro sure demonized Kennedy, didn't he? And for sure Quico. A Chavez no le hubiera dado la pataleta que le dio si el caso de la maleta se hubiese ventilado bajo una hipotetica presidencia de Obama. Or do you think that Chavez will be able to call Obama so he can call the Florida judge to let things cool down as he does with his buddies the Argentinians?

What do guys in Uruguay, Peru, and Honduras know about the GOP? Is the US and that is the only thing that matters, the evil-US, the source of all your problems, the source of your misery. Never your horrible governments. I guess people just swallow all Chavez's lies if they are willing to do so no matter how outrageous they are. I talked with a friend in Caracas a couple of days ago, a well educated guy and his misinformation about US politics was absolutely amazing. I think part of the problem is the source of their information, people here know the media is biased (7 to 1 think so, see http://www.rasmussenreports.com/content/search?Se... But that same biased media is the source of information to the very few that bother to read newspapers in Latam (everywhere for that matter).

Have you guys ever heard Obama talk about Latin America? (besides his talk in Miami, and the ocasional position on Chavez) When he talked "to the World" from Berlin and mentioned countries all around the world, he did not even bother mentioning any Latin American country. Shocking!

Sure... IF Obama wins, Chavez can invite him to Caracas, (or better Chavez can finally sit his big fat ass in the White House), both hug and became "hermanos del alma", and them when Chavez gets "una puntada" he starts screaming and calling him names (does it seem familiar? remember Uribe, Garcia, and the rest?) and then everyone realizes how "savy and wise" Obama is and everyone takes advantage of it (remember Carter and the hostage crisis in Iran?) Just great!
