Even tho' it'd been almost 60 years since I'd read the book, the trailers seemed out of place with my memories. For $.99 I acquiired the first five books as ebooks and I'm enjoying them immmensely. That said, I don't think the movie will be any way true to the book(s).

John, it'd be nice for you to step down from your "streaming" soapbox and address several issues with it. How much broadband do you need to seamlessly stream HD. I'll wager close to half of broadband use is thru the local cable company with most of the remainder thru the local phone company. What do you think the cable company will do if they lose a sizable number of TV customers? Do you think, maybe, cable and phone co.'s will limit usage, much like cell operators are now doing? You know they're going to raise broadband costs to the consumer. Feel better soon!

Gotta agree with you TJ. From what I've seen streaming HD takes a 8MB+ hardwired, not wireless, internet connection. The cost of that, if available, when the entry price expires, will be in excess of $75 a month and most likely subject to limits of use, see web-phones. I pay less than $60 a month for my HD satellite, HD VDR & adequate 3MB internet.

From the article I read, a few days ago, the child is just two years old, the mother doesn't have full time custody and it was the grandmother who reported it after seeing red whelts on the child's bottom. I feel a two year is way to young to have been spanked that severely. That said, the D.A. & the judge are both bufoons for raising this to the level they did.

Actually, it appears to be quite similar to the Royal Navy's "jump-jet" carriers of the 70's/80's. The upswept deck allowed the Harrier VTOL's to lauch with a much heavier weapons load.
