What a pitiful example of what the left has produced the past 55 years. If Lyndon Johnson could only meet him !

Breitbart.tv : George Will: 'NPR Is Run By People Who Don't Like People Like Me'

They have invented this thing called the internet. There is even something called satellite radio. NPR is 1920s technology in search of subsidy. They call that rent seeking in economics. Joe Biden thought Roosevelt went on TV in 1929 to reassure the public about the stock market. Cokie was probably the announcer. She was young then.

Big Journalism : Washington Post Organizes News Boycott of Sarah Palin; Starts Twitter Campaign Against GOP Star

I agree. This just means that one source of negative articles about her has shut down. Now how can we get the NY Times to join the boycott ? You can tell by the comments to Jen Rubin's columns what the percentage would be in that poll. The Post's readership is about 67% lefties.

Nobody went through the formal process of listing him in the database. The sheriff's office discouraged callers who were complaining about his threats. There has to be a formal process for the law to work and that didn't happen. I hope that gets looked into. Dupnik bears a lot of blame.

Why didn't his parents take action ? When the FBI came to their home this weekend, they tried to bar the door with pieces of lumber. They don't sound very cooperative. He might not the only one in that house with issues.

If any single individual in Tucson was responsible for this tragedy besides the shooter, it is that hack sheriff. His office got many complaints about Loughner and callers were discouraged from filing formal complaints. The fact that Loughner's mother is a County employee and politically active probably has something to do with it. Had they accepted complaints and had this resulted in a restraining order or a conviction, he would not have been able to buy that gun.

Big Hollywood : TCM's Documentary On Hollywood History Wildly Misses the Mark

I love movies and have read many books about them. I just won't go to most of those made today. I'm sure that series had to get past the gimlet eye of Ted Turner who was a great guy until he met Jane Fonda. Now, he is a loopy leftist who seems ashamed of his own success. He is a bore on any topic but sailing and TCM has thankfully escaped many of his eccentricities. It is great that classics are being released on DVD in good restorations.

O'Brien was Ford's favorite actor in silents and was good in the talkies (She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, for example) but he and Ford had a falling out in the late 30s when they were traveling around the world together and Ford went on one of his legendary benders in the Philippines. O'Brien finally left him there and went on. Ford did not use him again for 10 years.

Warren Buffet owns six life insurance companies and is therefore a big fan of a rise in inheritance taxes. If a family business is to survive the death of the principal, the family must buy life insurance to pay the death tax and Warren is all for that. There is an old rule that applies to Warren Buffet and to George Soros. Cui bono?

I don't think it is their intent but it was not Hoover's intent, or Roosevelt's. They were progressives and did not understand macroeconomics. The same is true of Obama and many of his advisors. They think they can tinker with the economy and nothing bad will happen because the business cycle will make all things rosy again. Bush, I'm sorry to say, didn't understand either in spite of his Harvard MBA. Easy money is politically popular but is as healthy as a diet of donuts. Greenspan deserves a lot of blame, too. He, of all people, should have known what would happen.

Big Journalism : ABC Owes Viewers Explanation: If Breitbart Is Lying, ABC Needs to Say So Now

"by treating Andrew Breitbart and other conservative pundits as equal (if partisan) voices in the political sphere, ABC would actually get part of their audience back, increasing their revenues. " That is the same argument that does not influence Hollywood which keeps making anti-American war movies that flop. They make up the difference with sales in Turkey and Iran. Nobody here buys tickets.

Obama is being referred to as "President gridlock" on LA radio yesterday and today. That last time he was here, he produced complete gridlock during rush hour and now, he is going to do the same thing on a Friday afternoon ! On the the other had, maybe this will help Meg Whitman. All he had to do was have these fundraisers on weekend days ! Does it not occur to rich Democrats that people have to work if they can find jobs ? Maybe not.

Big Government : Will the 'Ruling Class Right' Rescue Vulnerable Dems?

I don't object to the NRA choosing an "A" Democrat over an unknown or a "B" Republican but, when you have two candidates with the same rating, they should realize the Democrat is a fair weather friend and, if Congress and the Democrats ever changed back to the old anti-gun group, your "blue dog" would flip right back with them. The NRA is a one issue lobby but it has to use some common sense, too. I've been an NRA life member for a long time and have watched the tide change with the Democrats. It is all politics with them, not conviction.

McGinniss' book on MacDonald was written under false pretenses and large parts of it have been debunked in a subsequent book. I still don't know if MacDonald is guilty but McGinniss was a liar and his book contained a lot of thinly sourced material.
