The CU administrators abuse the public's trust by giving a significant part of the huge tuition increase to themselves, and you think the appropriate solution is to monitor professors' salaries?

Apparently, not only do you not know the quote, you don't know who made it. When you figure it out, let me know.

Because you're taking their quotes out of context?

Ha Ha Ha!

Deniers stealing emails is proof of their cause. Deniers having their email stolen is proof of their cause.

Actually, I've been going back through all the denier arguments, and I can't seem to find a single example of anything which doesn't prove their cause.

"Is catastrophic global warming, like the Millennium Bug, a mistake?"

Do you know why there weren't major crashes at Y2K? I do. It's not because there wasn't a problem. It's because the entire software industry put its R&D on hold for a year in order to attack the problem and prevent the catastrophe from happening. Why did they do that? Because they knew the cost of doing nothing would be higher than the cost of business as usual.

If somehow the free market would do the same with climate change, we'd be in good shape. However, it won't happen. With Y2K, it was clear that doing nothing would affect the bottom lines of all the companies in the relatively short term. Doing nothing would have put these companies at risk.

But climate change does not put any big companies at short term risk. The risk is all dumped on other people and future generations. Why would any free market company, even one that recognizes the problem, take it on? Plus, if they deny that there is a problem, they can ignore it and keep their consciences clear.

Interestingly, research has been performed on the effects of climate change on plant growth. It turns out that, when you look at all changes, not just CO2 increases, plant growth actually goes down.

"When global temperatures stopped increasing about 15 years ago"

I don't understand this statement. I've looked at the data over and over and I just don't see it. Yes, there are ups and downs as you would expect, but there is a clear trend line of around 0.02C per year that has been going on since about 1970.

Sorry, my embedded pic doesn't seem to work, but you can see the graph here:

By the way, if what you are asking about is shoulders (not bike lanes), Boulder County voters approved issue 1B in 2007 which specifically identified shoulders on a listed set of county roads as part of the transportation improvements called out. Voters approved it by 69% to 31%. The dollars were all defined in that ballot issue.

If you really have a problem with the county spending money that was specifically approved by the voters by a margin of more than 2 to 1, I can't help you any further.

Clearly you didn't read the article, which had nothing to do with bike lanes.
