I do follow polls very closely. Your argument is akin to asking someone with two healthy arms which one they wish to be amputated when neither is not a voting option!

If May was doing such a good job as per your source (https://yougov.co.uk/news/2018/08/10/voting-intention-conservatives-39-labour-35-8-9-au/) then the parties wouldn't be only 4 points difference. Given the state of Labour, there should be a double digit lead right now yet we're losing ground and May is allowing the rise of UKIP again.

I would hardly say a 36% approval is great news, with Corbyn at 22% she should be well into the 50% band at least. 14 points ahead of someone who is an outright danger to the country is hardly doing well!

Just at the point where we could be attracting disgruntled Labour voters given the direction that party is going, we're failing to deliver what we promised.

Did they cancel the EU membership in the term of Parliament that those manifesto pledges related to?

However I see your point and do agree; personally I feel anything pledged in a manifesto should become a legal requirement of a government should they win the election on said promises.

As we saw at the last GE, its too easy for all parties to make promises to voters to win a vote but then never see it through. It simply damages democracy and trust in politicians.

LOL! I like the fact that at present you think we'll get elected with the tripe our leader is trying to sell! I'm more than happy to debate views but Phillip Lee stood on a manifesto as did all other Conservative MP's - to renege on that to voters is unforgivable and anyone who takes that view shouldn't continue to be part of this party.

I have never been to UKIP. And to be clear, I want nothing more than what our party promised in its manifesto....

The problem is that TM and her band of merry men are as much use a chocolate teapot and will deliver nothing but failure. She's repeatedly lied and we cannot hope to ever progress if people don't believe what was constantly said and pledged.

You make quite an assumption there that I am old and white....

I am not a "kipper", I have never been a "kipper". I am a life long Conservative. I am perpetually bored however of being regarded as some time of idiot branded with words such as "extreme", "toxic" or "divisive" because I believe in restoring our nation to one of self determination.

You are correct however, that we do need to stand and fight; but the issue is we need to fight the infestation of people like you who criticise and define anyone who supports Brexit as being some sort of moron.

Dear Phillip,

I was moved by your letter, moved to the extent that I hoped you would follow suit and leave the Conservatives as did Sophie.

Describing the core of the party membership who did vote for Brexit as "Brextremists" is not really the wisest of moves on top of your somewhat pathetic stunt to resign your ministerial position.

There is good news however, there's a lovely and completely pointless little organisation called the Liberal Democrats; I'm sure they'll welcome you with open arms as I believe you would fit in well there.

All the best,

MDT

The finest sitcom writers in the world couldn't generate a storyline as funny as this if they tried!

Nicky Morgan has got it spot on. Sadly, she, as one of the 70% of MPs who support remaining in the EU have missed the point that the party as a collective favours leaving the EU therefore I couldn't agree more that we should stop the fighting and the party leadership should adopt the position that actually reflects the grassroots position.
