How about bringing ANY plow out to folks in county territory--like out here between Carnation & Duvall? Although, given the alleged budget shortfall the county is currently subject to, I don't expect to see any plows.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Woman jumps from third-floor window to escape fire | Federal Way News

This is definitely one of those situations where we are second-guessing from a distance; none of us was there, in her shoes, living in that terrifying moment. Both proposed choices carry potentially ugly consequences. We don't know if she blocked the flames with a door and wet towels, or left the door wide open; we don't know if she jumped before the smoke or flames were even in her home yet. Obviously, it would certainly be better to break a leg, rather than die of smoke inhalation or burns. Re: renter's insurance...it's obviously a great investment, but may just be out of some people's budget, as a luxury they can't afford. I choose to have renter's insurance, rather than cable TV or Internet service; I cannot afford them all.

Christians are taught in Scripture not to judge others, but also to love the sinner--while hating the sin. We avoid judging others' sins, because we are sinners too. God will judge all of us in the end.

I live on the Snoqualmie, about 10 miles downstream from where the Tolt dumps into it. Our place has gone underwater 3 times in the last 4 years. The house is high & dry, but there's no getting to town--without a boat. There's a price to pay for living on the valley floor. You either pay it willingly, or move to higher ground, permanently.

I've said this before-and I'll say it again. For those who insist (for whatever reason) that capital punishment be eliminated as an option in the justice system, I offer you this: if this selfish cruel monster is convicted of two counts of aggravated murder by a jury of his peers, he should spend the rest of his life in a dark box, with a hole in the floor for poopin' and peein'. No light, no reading, no Net, no human interaction, no exercise. Three plates of mush slide under the door at 6am, noon, & 6pm, every day, forever. No medical, no change of clothes, no shower--he's lucky I'm giving him a hole in the floor to pee in! If I HAVE to finance his life after he robbed them of theirs, make his existence as frugal as possible. There is no rehabilitation here, no chance for making up for what he did by being a good upstanding citizen. His life in that box will be Nirvana, compared to the life he'll have when he dies and goes to Hell, to be tortured forever by Satan. And don't come cryin' to me about his "deplorable conditions", ACLU. He has no rights-not anymore.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Man brutally assaulted in downtown Arlington | KOMO News - Breaking News, Sports, Traffic and Weathe

Sadly, this episode is an example of the frequent breakdown of civilized behavior in public, of people who have indulged in too much of something that alters their conscience. Small town, big town, Belltown, any town...I live in county territory 5 miles from a small town--much smaller than Arlington; but it's a regular occurrence at one of the two taverns there. Domestic abuse/assault is the other problem they have to deal with on a regular basis.

Anyone with a couple grains of intelligence knows that there are rogue cops--just as there are rogue politicians, pastors, teachers, & Scout troop leaders. It's a sad reality that will not change. But this is about honoring and respecting those who serve with honor, and moral devotion to their purpose: to protect the community from those who would wreak havoc and mayhem on the community if no one was there to stop them. Your hate and predjudice is illogical, baseless, and spineless. By the way, what do you mean, 'Sorry' ?...sorry for what? Yelm28m wrote above that he/she hoped they could control themselves if they were to see that vulgar, hateful shirt on the street...I'm here to tell you that I am NOT going to control myself if I see that shirt on the street. The loser who dares wear the shirt in my view will get more than an earful of me, promise!

As a father of 3 wonderful teenage daughters, my blood boils at the thought of this demon torturing that little boy--and that the boy's own mother enabled it. Not only do they have no redeeming value to society, they have lost their right to breathe. When they take their last breath one day, they will be delivered to Satan, where their ultimate punishment will begin..and go on for eternity

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Grandmother charged after dog attacks on baby | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | Local

I know people want to debate the choices made and the alternate choices to be considered/suggested, but I can easily decide one thing for sure: the dog would've been put down immediately after the first incident. Period, no contest, no debate necessary. I love dogs, and have been a responsible dog owner for over 40 years, but no dog is worth a second attack on a loved one...especially one as vicious as this. I don't care if she pulled his ears, stepped on his foot AND stole his food.

This is how it goes out where I live too...the folks on our road participate in the farmer's BlockWatch, but we don't call the sheriff to stop the crackhead. We stop him, and let the sheriff come and get him, likely so they can take him to the ER, 40 minutes away.

I'm not one to jump up & defend politicians or attorneys, but the task of punishing DV offenders is not as easy as it should be. The justice system needs to take a good long hard look at how to punish/rehabilitate DV monsters. It seems apparent to me that the abuser's primary problem is his/her inability to control anger...and sadly, it also seems that they often feel justified in physical control or attack. We all know that this is a tragic event that has changed many innocent lives forever. It's pathetic that many many people still feel that this is acceptable behavior. There's no reason we can't consider this as much a top priority as child abuse. Lawmakers, are you listening?

I am torn between which is more appropriate justice: capital punishment, or life in prison without parole. The suffering that she'll likely endure for the next 50+ years, or the unimaginable suffering she'll endure forever in Hell. I don't want the law-abiding taxpayer to fund her existence, i.e. food, clothing, shelter, entertainment, medical care, etc.
