... or Ted Nugent's :-D I watched a show a couple of years back on the daughters of rock stars. I was quite impressed how level-headed Uncle Ted's kids were, especially when compared with the others on the show.

I think your daughter is on to something here ... now-a-days, why be "cute" when you can be "hawt?" I'd prefer my daughters be cute ... This whole thing is sad, but not surprising.

Big Hollywood : Why Won't Hollywood Conservatives Make an Alger Hiss Film?

Call me naive, but it doesn't have to be a "conservative" movie, just a truthful one. We are far enough from the events, and the facts are clear and indisputable. The story alone would guarantee an entertaining and engrossing film if it were well done. OK, so I am naive ...

Big Hollywood : Marvel Studios Now Making the Lazy Comic Cash-Ins It Was Founded to Replace

Yep, me too. I saw each of these movies with my teenage kids and we all enjoyed them, even 'Iron Man 2'. Were any of these movies perfect? No, but they were very enjoyable, didn't insult me or my beliefs and I was smiling when I left the theater. And I am looking forward to 'The Avengers' - one of the few movies I'll actually deal with the boneheads at the theater to see this year.

Big Hollywood : Daily Call Sheet: Box Office Analysis, America Doesn't Care About Sundance and '30 Rock' Day 2

Maybe we should start a club - albeit a small club. I like 30 Rock as well. I enjoy the fun had with the political views from all sides. The episode with Queen Latifah stands out in my mind. When do you ever, EVER, see anyone poke fun at black politics on network TV? This is what I love about this site ... actual discussion and conversation without the cookie-cutter points of view required by moderators.

Big Hollywood : Van Halen's 'Tattoo' a Bad Ink Job

I saw them several times in the late 70s - early 80s (including the massive US Festival), so I was a little apprehensive about their reunion tour a few years ago. I didn't have anything to worry about. It was a really good show. Felt like old friends getting together after years (decades) apart. I don't know if I'll be able to catch the tour this year ($$$) but I'm looking forward to the new material. Will it replace VH 1 thru 1984? Of course not, but I'm hoping to enjoy what they have to offer. Keep sober, guys, and you'll be generously rewarded by your old friends ... and their kids!

Nice try. If I remember correctly, the USSR did show footage of American poor to their people during the Great Depression to illustrate the failings of Capitalism and democracy. The had to stop when the reaction of their people was, "In America, even the poor have shoes! and automobiles!" Thanks for playing. Buh bye ...

"Show producer Brett Ratner’s vile anti-gay comments..." I'm sorry, did I miss something? Distasteful yes - vile anti-gay, I don't know. I think that the PC Thought Police don't need to be encouraged or given any support be accepting their hyperbolic sense of offense.
Big Hollywood : Morning Call Sheet: Rumored 'Dark Knight' Prologue, Leave Lindsay Alone, and 'Kumar' Mocks Jesus

I think it's possible to admire the majority of a 40-year career even if one doesn't admire the last few years. It seemed to me that Carlin ended on a bad note, being pretty angry and bitter but that doesn't (for me, anyway) discredit what I consider to be brilliant work prior to that. Did I "agree" with all of his material? Of course not. But the Carlin I watched and listened to when I was growing up in the late sixties, seventies and early eighties was incredibly funny and insightful. Thanks to CDs, I can still enjoy all of this material without being distracted by the later stuff that just wasn't funny to me ... I suspect that is what JN is referrring to.

Big Hollywood : Morning Call Sheet: New Bond Villain, an Apple-less Cloud, Hackman Un-Retires?, and Tony Bennett Beg

I'm always a little suspicious of accusations made after a person has passed on, when they have no way to defend themselves. I don't know what did or didn't happen, and really, neither does anyone else except those acutally involved and we've only heard one side ... Not saying anyone was a saint, but I've seen quite a few children (of celebrities and others) assault their parents character publically and then be shown to be, let's just say, stretching the truth. Just sayin'

The original statement to which I commented was "I didn't know puppets had sex." Not Bert and Ernie in particular but puppets in general. That's why I mentioned "Team America," a movie that featured a rather explicit (and infamous) PUPPET sex scene. No endorsement, no condemnation, just a mention of a topical movie. I didn't miss the point of your humor at all ...
