Hi Mark and Mods,
I've been rereading/ rewatching the Tortall vids, because they being me great joy.
I know only a few of the Song of the Lioness chapters were commissioned, but all but three of the Immortals chapters were.
Could I commission the missing chapters in Wild Magic, so we have a 'complete set'? Is that something Mark would be interested in?
Obviously you have already read it, and it would be different than doing it unspoiled. And of course, you have your actual schedule of new books, so only if you had the time.

I said this above, but this is where I actually meant to comment: it's not the income she cares about (they're supposed to default on the payment if they need to), it's the history of her family's lands. Which we (and Tris) know aren't important! but it still matters to Sandry.

But Sandry doesn't seem to care about the money at all. As she says earlier, even without the money from her lands, she would be rich from the work she can do herself (not to mention her father's money).
Her real problem seems to be the legacy of her lands. Which does seem odd for Sandry to care about, given what we know about who she is. But history can be hard to get over!

I know TP took it out when she was breaking up the big Lioness book into small ones for kids, but still! There's that part where Thom goes to distract Roger when Alanna is sneaking out to go to his rooms to discover his misdeeds... WHAT HAPPENED THERE???
And why was Roger so obsessed with Alan? Is Thom just a stand in??? Or a tool to get back at Alanna after she killed Roger (it didn't stick :D )? Or did Roger actually like Thom? Did Thom actually LIKE Roger? Is that part of the reason he brought him back to life?? Did Roger put a whammy on Thom to make him bring him back to life???

We never really got to know Thom all that well! And I wish we did. He was so obnoxious and imperfect, and I wish I knew more!

I feel like if she wrote it now adays, Lioness would be a lot more nuanced and have more representation. So then, the bad guy being gay/bi would not be a big deal, because he wouldn't be the only one.
(Ummm, I will believe in Bisexual!Raoul forever!!!!!!!!!! FOREVER!!!!)

Man, in some ways, I'm still so sad we never got the fuckedup dynamic that would have been obvious Roger/Thom. Like all the Thom as standin for Alan/Alanna, all the Jon/Alanna(Alan) as compared to Roger/Thom, all of Alanna's feelings of Betrayal and of Thom's needing to be acknowledged as 'the best', all of that!!

But then I'm also glad that we didn't get the eeevvilll!queer Roger trope. That is tired. BUT BUT also, Roger/Thom...
