They lost - not unexpected. They looked bad at the start - penalties, fumbles, etc. But once they got past the first game jitters, they looked organized and minimized penalties and played hard until the end. The coaches apparently miss the running ability of their quarterback and that cost them. Think of it, after the first quarter there were not any false starts or game delay penalties. They just need more talent.

I wonder what would be the result of a law that made the Bowls provide 80-90% of revenues to the schools or conferences. Most schools end up paying for the privilege of going to a bowl game instead of realizing some revenue from them.

Finding a coach that works for your(my) school is a crap shoot. Look at Oklahoma, Alabama, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Washington over the last 10 years or so. Only Oklahoma and Alabama finally hired someone who could win consistently. So like any enterprise, you make the best hire you can at the time (Hawkins for instance) and if it doesn't work, try again. We need contracts that don't cost so much when the coach needs to be replaced.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : CU Buffs QB Cody Hawkins goes all-in in life - Buffzone

Nobody should complain when CU is in the news. And like they say in Hollywood, it doesn't matter what the news is. I partly blame the Denver news media for the lack of support for all the Colorado college teams. I live in Michigan and the two major programs are in the Detroit papers DAILY! Now I realize there are more alumna of those schools in Michigan, it helps create interest in the programs. Colorado, with so many out of state immigrants, needs to convert them into fans and can't do that without the support of newspapers. Just look at the coverage that the Broncos, Rockies and Aves get. The last time I went shopping for a sweat shirt in Longmont, Michigan had as much shelf space as Colorado! Ridicules... So never complain about what ever news there is about CU.

What a fabulous group of CU athletes and coach. But CU and the other Colorado colleges could have been much greater both on the field and class room if the state had not cut funding for higher education so much! Colorado is going to end up like Michigan if it is not willing to invest more in itself.

He had to try the field goal. Their kicker was probably good from 60 at Boulder. He had to try to force Georgia into going for a touchdown. I was thinking the same thing with Goodman but after some thinking about the situation, his best option was to try the field goal. Actually I was thinking it was going to be a fake. NQNQ, think about your number 1 comment on return yardage.

It is really a crime that state financial support of colleges has fallen so low. And Colorado is one of the biggest criminals in its lack of support for its colleges. And I am not talking about support for sports.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : 19 Buffs honored for 4.0 grade-point averages - Buffzone

I worked 20-40 hours a week to put myself through CU and earned a 2.65 GPA (ChE and Accounting degrees). The student athletes noted in this article I am sure worked harder than that in their sports and will most likely get their degrees in less than the 9 years it took me with incredible GPA's. I think these kids are amazing! I realize there are not many limits on comments for these articles but I would have expected more "great work student athletes" and less of the "nonsense" for this type of article. My bad. I must lower my expectations......

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Tramel: Revenue sharing keeps Texas in Big 12 - Buffzone

First of all, what other options does Texas or Oklahoma have or did have? The Big 12 would have been different but maybe less expensive but so what. Where would they go? Another league that shares equally? Become an independent like Notre Dame (how is that work out these days)? The school presidents who allowed this were and are gutless. This raising all boats is what the rich always say when they are scamming you. It is just total BS and Barry Trammel is just perpetuating the myth. College football is not big business otherwise there would be playoffs to maximize income- it is a fiefdom run to please a few egos. Where else would the chairman of a committee be paid $500,000 to run a event like single football game (bowl game).......
