Big Government : Regulating the Internet, One Way or the Other

He may be speaking the truth but he's insinuating too much. "The internet wouldn't exist without some public funding at some point. That's not to say that Government MUST control it, but that government has always had some role." Has the government always had some role? Would it not exist without some public funding? Seems to me that the internet didn't really get off the starting block until the government abandoned it. I first saw it in 1981 and back then it was strictly an email network between large universities (mainly private, I was going to the University of Southern California at the time). After the government got out of the way, those university students figured out a way to really make it better. The basic elements of the internet may have been created by the government but the real bells and whistles and the world wide web was created in spite of the government.

Big Government : Al Gore and the Great Debate: Will He or Won't He?

Big Government : Lindsey Graham: For Cap and Trade, Except When He's Not

Just because you believe it to be a logical fallacy doesn't make it so. In order to be a straw man it must be illogical and you are the only one here spouting illogical statements. By the way, I didn't bring up the UN. Someone else did. My statement stands, the IPCC is a UN organization. The IPCC is the ultimate power grab by the UN. Prove me wrong or just call it a strawman argument, your choice.

Big Government : House Conservatives Break With GOP Leaders in Fight Against ObamaCare

This is the problem. Dems can't get the message because they don't care. The bigger issue is, did the Republicans get the message? I doubt it considering their response on every other issue.____Just because a politician has an R behind their name doesn't make them a conservative. Case in point is Scozzafava, she was more liberal than the Democrat. The leadership of the Republican party wants a bigger tent and they don't care how that tent is formed. I'm almost ready to reregister as an independent because both major parties are lying hypocrites.

That's one thing that's always annoyed me. The government always tallys up the creation of a government job in the "plus" column. In all actuality, the creation of a government job is a net drain on the budget. The job and all its benefits are paid for by the taxpayer. The creation of any job should be considered a part of the deficit column because it is a burden on the taxpayer.

The sad part is that Governor Ritter is trying to emulate California. If we don't get rid of him for a fiscal conservative, Colorado will become a suburb of San Francisco.

All it takes is one good screwing by a union to foster union hatred. I worked at a steel mill in southern California that previously had been owned by Kaiser Steel. The United Steelworkers had a union at that plant during the Kaiser days. When the company closed down, the union didn't do a thing to help its workers and had raided the retirement fund. After the Japanese bought the old plant, the steelworkers tried again to weasle into the plant. Most of the employees had been screwed by the USW union when Kaiser shut down. As a result, when the election was held for allowing the union to "represent" us, they were defeated. Not just defeated, devastated. I believe the vote was near 96% against allowing the union to enter.

I lived in California for 22 years and the Governor was never really the problem. The problem is that the Assembly is overrun by FAR left liberals. The Governor has no power in California. The Assembly has his testicles in a vise. I left back in 2000 because I was just so tired of having less and less responsibility for how I lived my own life. California would be a great State if they could just remove San Francisco and Los Angeles. It would be even better if the anchor baby laws were repealed.

I think Walmart has been selling caskets for quite a while now. I don't have a problem with it because they cost a hell of a lot less than buying them at a funeral parlor. SEIU is organized crime and Walmart wants to be in with them so when the entire country is unionized, Walmart will have been in the family since the beginning and will be able to quash any small businesses that try to compete with them.

God, you need to go back to your progressive websites apparently. When Democrats were in power from 2006 till Obama, what did they do? When Democrats were in charge for 40 years before the Republicans took over in 1996, what did they do? Stop playing the stupid blame the Republican game. Neither party did a damned thing for healthcare. Define the healthcare problems and fix them one at a time. Don't scrap a system that works for most of us.

OK. Who has the best healthcare? Don't use the bullsh!t statistics that you get from DailyKOS though. Tell you what, when you need the best surgeon in the world, where do YOU look? Why don't you go to those wonderful countries with, in your opinion, the best health care in the world the next time you need an organ transplant or cancer treatment. Good luck with that.

Tell that to the people that were attacked by SEIU at the tea parties. Terror: 4 : violent or destructive acts (as bombing) committed by groups in order to intimidate a population or government into granting their demands <insurrection and revolutionary terror> Terrorism: : the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion Using these definitions, it's not a stretch to consider the SEIU terrorists.
