Dracco may be seeking more funding support for it. Otherwise there wouldn't be much reason to promote it so early back then. 26 episodes of CGI is a huge project, not explicitly tied to the toy lines... Investors might be wondering, what's the purpose? Will it boost sales? Is it risky?
But then, they could have released a Funtasia toyline right now and it would be the best promotion. So why didn't they.

Witchy are somewhat like MLP zebras. Pagan tribes area, no offense intended. But it's much more clear what they do; Elves are most mysterious.
Interesting whether Lynn likes the rules Witchy magic sets. They seem strict. Like cutie marks, they restrict the Filly to do the things required to balance the magic. Doesn't that balance mean that the resulting magical effect is normally zero? Like with Abra and Cadabra, the thing one does, gets immediately undone by the other: which still leaves them as good rulers, because, if everything's already optimal, null strategy is best strategy.
In Emocia, magic balance doesn't seem to be restricted; but emotion balance throughout that land might be zero. If you got a sad magic crystal, you are a sad wizard. Maybe this can be broken by going outside of that world construct, to where the equation doesn't apply? Can one get rid of their crystals once received?.. Crystals seem to stay valid when gone to other areas, otherwise only unicorns would stay magical while in Funtasia.

I'd like to call myself a Brony, but the term itself doesn't seem to mean much, since MLP fandom is more like a set of sub-communities divided by vision of the series now than one community as before. Not that they're disconnected, but they're disconnected by opinions and goals. I would have to explain what I mean by 'brony'.
With that, I don't mean the fandom doesn't work. Just, Community is something bigger. Implies unity.

If they're really making a movie with such plot, then it's not really the good time cause no one even knows what's inside Funtasia yet.
Actually, this sounds like a separate part of series that would sell on DVD/BDs.
