"Given the number of out-of-towners that visit Boulder (tourists, students, students' parents, etc.) ..." That should not be a realistic concern. A mechanism was installed that was supposed to be tested. Not tested on just Boulder people, but on a whole spectrum of users. Apparently, these types of devices are used 'all around the world' according to some of the posters above and therefore should be safe and satisfactory to tourists, students and the likes. I’m beginning to question whether or not these problems are unique specifically to Boulder due in large part to the fact that most of the people in Boulder are self-absorbed Narcissists and don’t care diddly about anyone else except themselves and hence why there are so many problems. Adding to the equation is the fact that most of the drivers around here are jacked-up nutjobs that will do anything to get ahead of anything that is in front of them, even if it means hitting a pedestrian or cyclist on their self centered way.

More American Crosswalk Carnage Madness. Stop The Carnage !!! It has become apparent that these mechanisms are complicating an already complicated driving environment and are the source of accidents that are resulting in severe bodily harm to those that are trusting of their.managers to know what in the hell they are doing when they design and implement new technologies. It seems pretty logical to get rid of them. Pretty simple actually. But, NO, the City of Boulder is going to spend thousands upon thousands S T U D Y I N G what they can do to make them more effective. They will get back to us in 18 months after they have a R E T R E A T somewhere to plan out and study some more useless ways to waste huge sums of taxpayers money. Chances are high they will come back with some retrofit that adds a Photo Radar camera or something idiotic like that. Got to increase revenues to pay for all these lawsuits that are adding up on a daily basis. Someone needs to follow the money on this one. Might just find one of Bill Cowren’s friends was the general contractor on the project. Also, I wonder what research they were using and if a legacy of these mechanisms are at work elsewhere without the carnage. Or is it just Boulder that has these things and was it the brainchild of some loon who needed something to do ?
